Instagram and TikTok are full of fitness advice that sounds great but most of the time isn’t feasible or doesn’t apply to you

You’re not failing because “you’re lazy” most people are just doing the wrong things expecting a particular result or the wrong information or stuck in the same yo yo cycle

It’s not just “train more eat less” it’s about doing the right things consistently in a way that actually fits your life

Sleep isn’t weakness it’s one of the biggest performance tools you have.. Quality >> Quantity

There is no perfect split or one way to train that builds muscle for everyone… pick something, train hard, fuel your body, recover… grow

What works for them might not work for you and that’s okay, find what will

Stop copying or buying random influencer PDF programmes.. start thinking, build something you can actually sustain and progress with

An honestly surprisingly successful Upper 2 in the bag

After a very hectic week, sleep took a bit of a hit and stress rose

Legs still heavy from Fridays lower and cardio and it cast doubt over my ability to perform today

But I caught it

Words have power and your mind will always be the loudest voice in the room

As I approached the gym I said nah f**k this attitude

We are getting after it regardless

Multiple rep increases across the session

Intensity high as it always is

And the result

A very productive session, some crazy conditioning that the camera fails to truly show

But I saw it

And that’s all that matters

Holding my head high for the next few weeks to come

Let get it

What a week

From a successful launch of May Intake to a big drop in cals and some very jam packed days filled with steps, cardio, training and programming

We are MOVING

Upper leg detail slowly coming through, don’t think I’ll ever have striated glutes at this point 😂 but we’re gonna keep digging and see what comes up

Posing rounds/Vaccums/Mobility multiple times a week now

Cardio still at 90 mins a week
Steps still at 10k

We’re onto another very busy week ahead with event down in London Friday, Luke’s stag do Saturday and plenty more graft, some fun sessions to look forward to and the end of the May Intake

Time to focus on the guys on the team, get my s**t done and keep pushing to be the best version of myself

Whether as a bodybuilder on stage
Or as a coach off stage

A very successful Upper 1 in the bag

Taken on a few new Q’s and tips after the in person with boss man and as a result my chest and back were in BITS

Upper body is leaning out very nicely, I’m sure with this weeks new drop of cals the lower body will come in aswell

Another pound in the piggy bank

Top line is shaping up nicely

Bring on Upper 2

One thing I’ll never do as a coach… is tell someone to do something I’d be unwilling to do myself

Because prioritising your health and fitness isn’t always easy

Sometimes it’s saying no to the sweets when you’re dieting
Sometimes it’s forcing down that last meal when you’re in a growth phase and you’re full up
Sometimes it’s finishing a long shift and still finding the energy to train, get your cardio done, or hit your step target when all you want to do is sit on the sofa

I get it… because I’ve been there and felt this too

But at the same time, it’s one of the most rewarding things you can pursue

Not just because you’re improving your physique, building muscle, getting stronger, or adding more quality years to your life through better health…

But because of the person it turns you into in the process

Fitness teaches you discipline
It teaches you resilience
It teaches you how to stay consistent when motivation disappears
And it teaches you how to do difficult things even when life gets hard

That’s why I believe training is so much bigger than just looking good

It builds confidence
It builds self-respect
And it gives you proof every single day that you’re capable of more than you think

Few of the heavier movement from Upper 2

As I’ve got further into this programme the focus on ex*****on before progression has been dialled in, trying to get the more stimulus out of the weight before pushing on has definitely helped as in the past I’ve had issues with joints feeling a little worse for wear

3 plates moving nicely on the flat press, will be sticking with this a little while whilst I improve ex*****on as ideally I’d like a bit more of a pause at the lengthened position, back off at 105 doing well

Prime extreme row continues to wreck my back off at the end of the session which is exactly what I need to finish the day off and something I’ve steadily improved on these past couple of weeks

Still working on 3 and a half plates for the single arm pulldown which is proving to be a bit stubborn but I like to view these moments as hidden work..

Keep working, same intensity and one day it’ll all click

The best decision I ever made was to invest

From coaching for gym progress to business mentors

Both of them allowed me to achieve goals I’d be struggling with for a long time

I loved the gym, working on myself, learning new things, getting stronger

I thought “nah why would I pay someone when I can learn it myself”

Then I watched others make progress faster than me, achieve results faster than me and I couldn’t wrap my head around what I was doing differently

So I decided why not, let’s give it a go

What’s the worst thing that could happen? At least during that time I’d be able to ask questions, understand different ways of working and hopefully learn some things

It changed my life

Changed how I approached training, life outside the gym, daily struggles and all the challenges the gym and life has to throw at you

It made me realise I had a new level, a new gear to switch to and a mindset that once found couldn’t be switched off

“The fool thinks he knows everything, the wise man knows he knows nothing”

Seek advice, improve your knowledge and process

There is so much out there now it’s hard to shift through it all

Find someone you trust, that you believe wants the best for you
