Coach Alex Dick-Cleland I coach guys to be FIT, STRONG, HEALTHY & CONFIDENT

You can’t expect to develop an athletic body if you’re ignoring these 5 things 👇🏼

1️⃣ Tracking Your Food: This is the biggest to be honest… because if you have little idea how much you are eating, you can’t have clarity on if you are sustaining a deficit to illicit fat loss

2️⃣ Training With A Plan: Sure it feels fun to smash yourself in a class or some hard runs. But if you aren’t following a specific training plan, you shouldn’t expect to progress

3️⃣ Fuelling For Performance: Your goal isn’t to do a photoshoot, so stop eating like it! Small 200-500 calorie deficit with carbs planned pre and post training to maximise performance & recovery

4️⃣ Developing A Repeatable Routine: You need a routine you can pick up and adopt from anywhere in the world. One that stands the challenges of life and you never drift too far from. Eat similar meals, train at the same time, sleep at the same time and is so repeatable, it feels automatic

5️⃣ Understand Your ‘WHY’: Goals are great but without a true deep and personal ‘why’, the goals are meaningless. Therefore it’s very easy to not follow through. When you think about what you want to achieve… ask yourself “why that matters” 3 times to get to the real reason!

With all of this in mind, it can still feel difficult to know what you need to focus on specifically

Especially with the amount of information there is out there these days on social media and access to AI

It’s made you even more confused than ever

Inside the EMA, we give you the exact clarity on what you actual need to focus on to succeed and help you understand how to do for the rest of your life!

Make sure to follow me if you’re a guy who’s been fitter before and knows you are capable of more

No matter how hard you try… you can’t out train poor nutrition

You can add in more cardio

You can do an extra class

You can smash another 5,000 steps

But it will not change 👇🏼

Uncontrollable weekends where you’re ‘perfect’ Monday to Thursday and then go ‘f**k it’ mode at the weekends

Guessing your calories and just ‘eating healthy’ but having no idea how much you are actually eating

Under fuelling your training where you cut out carbs/food and wonder why you’re starving and low on energy

99% of the guys we work with, didn’t need to train more…

They needed to start making their nutrition and lifestyle match the work they were already putting in

Which is why when guys come to work with us, they often say things like “this was easier than I thought” or “I never thought it was possible to lose fat and get stronger together” or “I feel like I am training less but seeing my body change more”

❌ Stop asking yourself “how can I do more?”
✅ Start asking yourself “how can I fuel better?”

When you get that part of it right, you will start building a body that actually reflects reflects it

Want to get lean WITHOUT sacrificing your performance?

I’ve created a Fuelling For Performance Blueprint to show you exactly how

Comment “FUEL” and I’ll send it over 👇🏼

If you always relied on feeling good to do the ‘thing’, the ‘thing’ will never get achieved

If you let fear limit your mind about the ‘thing’, the ‘thing will always feel out of reach

Coming up to 15 years since I first stepped into a gym, with 9 years now as a coach and it absolutely hasn’t always been plain sailing

I’ve made PLENTY of mistakes…

I’ve had PLENTY of frustrating moments…

And I’ve had PLENTY moments I doubted myself…

BUT

Despite all of these moments you see above, you know the one thing that always remained?

How I attacked each day!

If anything, the worser days, made me work harder

When my back was up against the wall

But those are the moments you look back at that helps build a strong resilient mindset to tackle life

Rather than seeing the challenges that life throws at you, as a limiter…

Look at them as a chance for growth

Because remember: on the other end of darkness, is light (the contrast theory)

You cannot have hot without cold

You cannot have north without south

Therefore, you cannot have success without failures

If everyday you can look back at and be proud of the standard you held for yourself, you will be alright… trust me!

Sam was already training HARD when he joined us

3-4 CrossFit sessions a week, long trail runs, half marathons… but in his words 👇🏼

“I want the level of progression to match the effort”

Because despite working harder than most people he knew:

❌ He still felt chunky
❌ Still had the beer belly
❌ And felt like the way he looked didn’t match how hard he trained

Effort was never the problem

The right structure was

In the nicest way possible, he was basically doing a bit of everything and hoping it added up

The fix?

We built a system that gave him the structure around his strength training, running and nutrition/fuelling

We fast forward to now

✅ 6.4kg down
✅ 5k PB
✅ 10k PB
✅ 5-10kg added to compound lifts
✅ 35 minutes off his 24km trail run
✅ Longest ever run at 30km

And most importantly

“Feeling fit, strong, athletic and confident”

That’s the goal

Not just seeing some number on the scale

Not just getting a new PB badge on Strava

But to actually feel like your body and performance reflect the work you’re putting in!

If that sounds like you 👉🏼 DM me PERFORM and lets chat

You train 4, 5 or maybe even 6 times a week

You run

You lift

You eat pretty well most of the time

But for how much effort you put in, you still feel like you should look better

And that’s exactly the type of guy we specialise in working with

After 9 years coaching and helping over 1,300 people, I can tell you the answer is rarely MORE training

It’s getting your training, nutrition and lifestyle working together towards the same goal

So you can get leaner without sacrificing your performance and energy

You already work hard

It’s about finally getting the results to match it

Follow if that sounds like you 💪🏼
