I miss my workplace. I miss my coworkers. While I miss both these things a lot, as they had so much meaning to me, it is not safe for gyms to reopen at the moment. I saw a petition with almost 10,000 signatures on it, of people wanting the doors to reopen so they could exercise as they wanted and return to their happy spaces. The problem with this is that the second the doors open, the gyms become packed, it’s no longer safe for members or staff members. While we are in total lockdown, there is absolutely no need for gyms to be open, as all this does is create unnecessary contact. In China, the gyms and health clubs closed again two days after they reopened due to a rise in case numbers, and that is exactly what will happen here if this goes through. For the safety of everyone, continue to exercise in your homes and your gardens, and please don’t support something that will make this go on for longer.
