Excellent first session from my new client, Darren, this morning.

5 x 1K off 2 mins rest with an average of 3:57/km

Looking forward to pushing him towards his target of a sub 20 min 5K in the next couple of months.

🏃‍♂️Making progress...🏃‍♂️

The weather this week was particularly bad (for June) and it's easy to let it put you off and make excuses not to train.

But progress comes from training consistently and that means turning up even when obstacles present themselves. Tiredness, the weather, general life stresses.

If you can still get out and train despite contending with these challenges, you are giving yourself a great chance of improving longer term!

Another parkrun I really enjoyed, despite it having a hilly section which usually puts me off!

✅ Friendly atmosphere

🏃‍♂️ Client Testimonial - Allen🏃‍♂️

Allen came to me from a football referee background, but shifted his focus to general running fitness and improving his 5K time.

He regularly shows great commitment when training with me, pushing on through fatigue and tired legs towards the end of tough interval sessions.

We ran at Stretford Parkrun together in April with him getting 32:16 which was his best 5K time since starting with me.

Been a pleasure to coach him for around a year now and looking forward to helping him bring his 5K/parkrun time down further in the coming months.

🏃‍♂️Group Run, 1-2-1 Sessions and the Manchester 10K🏃‍♀️

A new route for the Park View group run on Saturday, running round the New Islington Marina.

Further progress made on the 1-2-1 sessions, despite some extreme heat in the earlier part of the week. Focus on 5K and Half Marathon training.

🏃‍♂️Kingsway Park, Urmston Parkrun🏃‍♂️

First run at the newly created Kingsway Park Parkrun. Now my local Parkrun too, taking over from Stretford.

An all grass course so was never going to be the quickest but enjoyed it more than I expected.

Aim was to run between 19:30-20:00 as wasn't going all out on this one and got 19:44 so about the right pace.

Still loyal to Stretford but this will be a good one to do if deciding on the morning!

🏃‍♀️Sessions this week🏃‍♂️

👟 Jane had her first 1-2-1 session with me, mile reps, working towards improving her fitness for Half Marathon & Marathons later in the year

👟 Steph also began her first block of training with me with some km reps. Also working towards building mileage for a HM in November

👟 Rachel put in another consistent session during her 500m reps

👟 Allen was unlucky to get soaked in of the random downpours on his training day while doing his 800m reps 🤣
