Let’s talk about weight and resistance training for weight and inch loss!
Ever looked at that dumbbell and been afraid to pick it up in case you end up “hench” or turning in to Popeye over night?
Let’s forget the stereotypes of how weightlifters look and look at how this type of training is massively beneficial for weight loss.
As a personal trainer who has been on this journey I can say from first-hand experience that it works!
Weight and resistance training increases you metabolic rate. This is the speed in which your body burns calories whilst doing day to day activities.
It has been proven your body continues to burn calories post weight training too. Weight training can cause DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) and muscles need to repair this is where calories are burned post training to repair the muscles.
Over time you may not see results on the scales with weight training however you will see a noticeable change in your body shape. During the weight training process muscle will begin tone up creating a lean athletic appearance.
MOST IMPORTANTLY it varied, it’s fun , improves your cardio vascular performance and builds strength.
