💩 I SAY WHEN TEACHING - PART 1
This is one of my favourite cues to use in pretty much every class I teach
I really enjoy telling people that it’s ok to take a break
IT’S OK TO TAKE A BREAK
(for the people in the back who weren’t listening the first time!)
Our bodies and minds need time to rest and recover so we can grow, repair and ultimately come back stronger 💪🏻
In a fitness class even 10 seconds of recovery can have huge benefits, just taking a few seconds to breath, shake off and refocus can be all someone needs to feel successful and like they can keep going
I promise if you’re in a class and you take a bit of time to move off to the side, have a drink or just breath no one will judge you negatively
You’re doing something really great, you’re listening to your body and giving it what it needs
The challenge is coming back in after taking your recovery - that’s growth mindset - that’s having the knowledge that yes it’s hard right now but if I keep going, practicing and giving the best I can then it will get better
As an instructor one of my biggest goals when teaching is giving people permission to move in ways that feel right for them, empowering people to have autonomy over their workouts so they feel in control and want to keep coming back because it feels good not because they “have too”
So, if you need recovery, take it, then come back in strong 💪🏻
