Next Generation Dance

A few months back now I had a clear out of some costumes that we no longer would make use of, and instead of selling them, I made the decision to donate some of them to the panto at Trusthorpe Village Hall, and the rest went to my old secondary school in Skegness!! 🫶🫶 Over the years as a school we have been very lucky to receive so much amazing support, lots of people have gone the extra mile to help support the dancers within the school, as well as the future generations of dancers that will one day benefit from the support that’s been shown to the school over the years, and for that I’ll forever be grateful!! 🙌🙌 So, when I sorted through and found costumes we wouldn’t make use of again, I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to find a new owner for them, than to donate them to those local to us, especially when we have students that take part in the panto, and we have students at my past secondary school!! 🥰🥰 We will as a school alway be there to support the community that supports us!! ✨✨

HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT!! 🙌🙌

Last nights highlights of the night are going to…

REMIE, LOLA, ELODIE, XANDER, VOILET AND ELLA-ROSE!! 👏👏

These 6 superstars are taking away highlight of the night for last night because since moving up to our ‘big girl and boy’ street class on a Tuesday evening, last night was collectively their best night yet!! 💪💪 They all worked super hard, their behaviour was the best it’s ever been, they were remembering their friends that they run on to join on stage in the show for their routine and overall it was just a really productive class for these little people, and we are all so proud of the improvements they have made as well as the journey they’ve been on to get there!! 😍😍 We are all really looking forward to our youngest members shining in our annual iconic dance show in November, and we know they will as they all look like they are practising lots and trying really hard each week!! 🔥🔥 Keep up the hard work little superstars, we are all so proud of you!! 🫶🫶

EXAMINATION AND DEMONSTRATION EVENING!! ✨✨

Our next examination and demonstration evening will be held on Saturday the 25th of July!! 🤩🤩 Please note we will be holding another one either in August or in September, but we will advertise this one once this one has sold out, as from what we can gather we will be needing two evenings for this event!! 🫶🫶

This evening is to celebrate all dancers who have taken exams this year so far, to present them with their certificates and awards and for them to demonstrate to friends and family what they’ve worked hard towards in class to be in a place to be able to be entered into exams!! 👏👏

Both dancers and spectators need a ticket for this evening, and we only have so many on space as it will be held at the studio, so we are limited on space, so once tickets are sold out they are sold out!! 🌟🌟 But as mentioned before this will be the first of two evenings hopefully, so do not worry if you don’t get your hands on tickets this time around!! 🥰🥰

Tickets will go on sale from TOMORROW, and these will be £5 each, please do not message about these as I won’t be reserving tickets, so make sure to come an grab yours when you can!! 😍😍 You will be given a physical ticket so make sure to keep them safe!! 🙌🙌

Tickets to be brought in cash only, and all ticket sales will go straight back to the dancers whether that be for new costumes, equipment, studio renovations, etc, and we will also do a tuck shop on the day too, to also help raise those pennies!! 🔥🔥

The first time we hosted this event it was such a beautiful and heartwarming evening, so hopefully lots of you will join us once again!! 🥹🥹

When you’ve worked hard all class and now your friends that you are going home with are taking too long to get ready to go home!! 😂😂 Couldn’t help but laugh at Emilie last night, I turned around and she’s on the ground chilling!! 🤪🤪

The best but most heart wrenching thing about my job is watching my dancers grow up, I’m lucky to be able to share so many amazing memories with them, I see them week in week out as they grow and improve, they share their highs and lows with me, and I watch them achieve greatness, but with all that I also watch them get older, and knowing that one day I won’t get to see them all the time does make me really sad!! 🥲🥲 The other photo I’ve added is Emilie a few months into her NGD journey, and I cannot believe that this is the same dancer!! 🥹🥹 She’s grown up so quickly and she’s become such a confident, talented and witty dancer, and I’m so very proud of her!! 🫶🫶

Last night one of my graduate students Phoenix shared a video on her TikTok, and even though she’s almost been off living her best life at dance college for almost two years now, I still miss her like the day she left!! ✨✨ We create such a loving dance family here, and all of the dancers support and care for each other so much, that even when someone flies the nest in whatever capacity that may be, they are all still such a big part of the dance family, as that bond cannot be broken!! 🥰🥰

I am proud of all of my dancers, both past and present, I am lucky to have been involved in so many dancers journeys over the year, and I can’t wait to be involved with so many more, and do all I can to give them beautiful memories whilst helping them achieve their potential!! 👏👏 We’ve had lots of past students come back recently to restart their dance journey with us, and we always have graduating students popping back to see us, but as they all know as I make it clear that the door will always be open here at NGD, you can always come back home to your dance family!! 😍😍

A note to all my students though… can you all stop growing up as I can’t take you all getting older any more, it makes me emotional!! 😭😭

HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT!! 🙌🙌

Last night’s highlights of the night are going to…

DESTINI AND AMBER!! 👏👏

Destini is taking away her highlight of the night for her super hard work shown in her lyrical class!! 💪💪 There is a section in her show routine where the older children in the class have a special part that’s more difficult and she picked it up beautifully whilst demonstrating some promising technique!! 🥰🥰 I just know if she keeps up the hard work in this class then she’s going to progress massively as she has lots of potential!! 🌟🌟

Amber is taking away highlight of the night for her continuous hard work throughout the entire night!! 😍😍 Amber really is pushing herself more than ever before and we can all definitely see her confidence rising as well as her ability level rising!! ✨✨ I witnessed incredible growth from her in Intensive Class last night, where she was shining bright, picking up choreography with ease, showing promising and improving technique and overall you could see the determination behind her eyes to achieve all she could, and it definitely was paying off!! 🤩🤩

A huge well done to both girls, you are both shining bright and we hope to see you continue to work hard and keep pushing yourself to reach your full potentials!! 🔥🔥 We are all so very proud of you both!! 🫶🫶

HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY!! 🙌🙌

Saturdays highlight of the day is going to…

HOPE!! 👏👏

Hope has been chosen for highlight of the day for her continuous hard work shown throughout Saturdays Classes!! 💪💪 She comes to the studio bright and early to help with our tots ballet and tap class, where she is always super helpful, and by the end of the day she’s still working just as hard!! 🤩🤩 Not only that but she always really pushes herself in her acro class and is always striving to achieve new skills which is just amazing to see!! 🔥🔥 The biggest well done Hope, keep up the hard work, we are all so proud of you!! 🫶🫶

Last weekends exam results are already in!! 😍😍 Once again we have received a 100% pass rate throughout the school, and all dancers have achieved such incredible marks!! 🙌🙌 A huge well done to you all, keep the hard work up and keep on giving your dance training your all because it’s definitely paying off!! 💪💪

Another set of IDTA exam complete yesterday and I couldn’t be prouder of all of my dancing superstars, you all did amazing!! 😍😍 All of the hard work definitely paid off, and now it’s time for the hard part… waiting for the results to come back!! 😅😅

So lots and lots of exams entered, and I’m so proud of each and every one of you for putting in all the hard work that allowed you to go into your exams and smash them and give it your all!! 🙌🙌

We will still be focusing on some exam work throughout the school over the next two terms, for those students that were almost ready to take exams this time but just need an extra little bit of time, and for our new graded acro dancers, and potentially some street dance exams, but other than that we are in full on SHOW MODE NOW!! 🔥🔥 With Musical Moments just 4 weeks away, and our annual iconic dance show in November we have got a lot to get done!! 💪💪

Let the hard work recommence once again!! 🤩🤩
