First day of the season!

Started with a respectful minute applause to remember a fantastic member of the grassroots community in Andy from Kirkham juniors!

The jags started the game fast with a smart press from the off, winning the ball high and starting attacks.

After a busy preseason the boys took all the coaching points from past sessions and implemented them impeccably! Scoring at least 3 team goals that started with the keeper, worked through the whole team and ended in a goal! The type of football as coaches we love to see these young superstars playing!

With Carter on Blackpool duties today, we need to throw a big thankyou to Jack and Alvie for halving the gk responsibility today! And doing it with confidence and bravery!

Our player of the match today goes to Hendawg, a solid performance at the back and added the skill of playing passes through the lines to find a team mate in dangerous areas!

The Jags took part in the Lions cup this morning! Having a fantastic morning, playing some very good football! Managing to go unbeaten all day and win all 5 games! They secured the Lions cup for the first time 🏆🏆🦁🦁⚽️⚽️🔥🔥

A couple Couldn’t make tonight’s presentation evening, but we celebrated like they were there!

A fantastic evening made possible by so many generous local business’ in the way of sponsoring prizes and awards!

The u8 have had such a fantastic season with progression being our main talking point. Turning into a team to really be reckoned with across just 1 season together!

Every player got an award for their efforts this season, we did have a few special awards to give out though!

Another fantastic game against a very good opponent! The grass was cut and ready for us as we arrived at BRN. A place many of our players use to call home! The jags started well moving the ball quickly and creating space for team mates! A real positive from today was goal kicks, straight off the training ground, meaning every player on the pitch touched the ball before it was laced into the back of the net!

Cobras kept on coming and the jags defended well and managed to turn some defensive work into quick attacks! Huge thanks again to the maroons boys who stepped in last minute to ensure we had some fresh legs on a very warm evening! ⚽️⚽️

Huge shout to the referee today who was really informative to the kids, even stopping to demonstrate! Fantastic officiating young man! 👌💪

Tuesday’s training for the Jags this week consisted of a brilliant friendly against St Anne’s Cobras.

Both teams displayed some brilliant passing and play with impressive goals scored either side. Cobras were brave and strong to take on a team of higher division but that didn’t stop them putting on a strong performance.

The jags showed determination bringing in some brilliant tackles, playing as a team as they passed the ball around the pitch and finishing strong. Red faced and tired they all had great fun and polishing their skills ready for the new season.

10 minute hydration breaks went down well with the lads in this heat!
