To all the parents out there…

You’re up early, getting everyone ready, doing the school run, working, sorting meals, laundry, life admin… and somewhere in between all of that, you’ve completely slipped to the bottom of your own list.
And then you wonder why you feel exhausted. Snappy. Drained. Like you’re running on empty.

Here’s the honest truth.... you can’t keep giving from a cup that’s never getting refilled.

Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

Movement changed my life long before it changed my body.

There was a time I was struggling silently with my mental health. On the outside I looked “fine”, but inside I was battling anxiety, low moods and days where even the smallest tasks felt overwhelming.

Exercise became my safe space.
Not punishment.
Not about shrinking myself.
Not about earning food.

It became the one hour where my mind felt quieter. Where I could breathe properly again. Where I started rebuilding confidence, strength and trust in myself.

And honestly, to this day, I still struggle with my mental health at times, but nowhere near as severely as I did in the past.

Mental health isn’t something that just disappears overnight. It’s something that can stay with you, but over time you learn your coping mechanisms. You start recognising the signs earlier when you’re beginning to struggle, and you learn how important it is to get back to the things that help keep you on the right path.

For me, movement is one of those things.

That’s why what I do now means so much more than reps, sets or scales.

I know how intimidating gyms can feel. I know how hard it is to walk into a space when your confidence is low. And I know that sometimes just getting yourself through the door is the biggest win of all.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, I just want to remind you:
✨ Movement is allowed to be gentle
✨ Rest is productive too
✨ You do not need to “look” like you’re struggling to deserve support
✨ Exercise should support your mental health, not damage it
✨ Small steps still count

If you’re currently struggling, please know there is no shame in asking for help.

My studio will always be a safe, welcoming space for everyone, no matter where you’re starting from.
