As we’ve mentioned before, the support we’ve received from local people and businesses has been incredible, and we genuinely can’t thank everyone enough.

One of those supporters is JT Heating & Maintenance. Today, Jody Taylor managed to pop along, and we were delighted to present him with a shirt for his man cave.

It was great to catch up with him after the game. Jody lives and breathes the sport. Having played across the Forest and surrounding areas for many years, he has a wealth of experience and knowledge that our young players can learn from. Just to hear his opinions is massive to us.

Jody was a top player in his day(and can still mix it up nowadays) and has carried that passion into management. Last season, in his first step into the dugout, he guided his team at Harrow Hill to a league title, an achievement that speaks volumes about his commitment and understanding of the game.

We’re incredibly grateful for his support. Having local people like Jody backing what we’re trying to build means a huge amount, and it’s fantastic for our players to have role models who have achieved so much in local football while still giving back to the community. ⚽👏💙

Great result today, with some great football played considering we haven’t played for a while and have only trained once in the last couple of months.

We kept our discipline and worked hard from the first to the last whistle.

Next Saturday will be a completely different test, but one I’m sure we can do well in.

Was good to see 4 different scorers on the scoresheet today, a great strike from Seth, then the next 2 came from great passages of play, we then conceded 3 and 18 months ago we would have fell apart but the determination to get the win was excellent.

Put it to a vote amongst the players, as the parents know I’m much harder on my own son, he must hate me 😂😂 but means a lot to see other players see his attributes not just his negatives. He’s not perfect but he loves the game so much and supports me in everything I do as a coach. So let me introduce the yorkley U14s club captain for the 26/27 season.

This was our first tournament in Yorkley Youth AFC colours today at Wotton.

Didn’t go to plan, however we have a massive amount to be proud of and to build on.

The boys showed true team spirit, in very challenging weather conditions with no negativity at all and could quite easily have won the first two games had our chances creeped in.

Todays Results:

Two 0-0 draws against very good opponents and a 1-3 loss.

Our goal was scored by Harvey after a fantastic strike from beyond the halfway line at kickoff which lobbed their stranded goalkeeper.

Unfortunately, due to an off field issue at the end of the game ultimately cut short our day. This we feel was down to poor officiating by the organisers and unsportsmanlike behaviour shown by opponents at the end of the game.

Despite these challenges we couldn’t be prouder of the Yorkley Youth team. 💙💛💙
