Last Sunday was an excellent day up at the quirky but fun Marland Golf Course.

Gareth Hammond won with 36 points on countback from Mike Phillips, who also picked up the Longest Drive and a Nearest-The-Pin. Ste Kirk won another NTP and one went unclaimed.

Next up is Walton Hall in June.

Sunday 19th April saw our 2nd fixture of the season take place at Dunscar Golf Club. Fortunately we got the best of the weather, so much so I forgot to take any pictures during the round.

Ant Johnson won the overall comp with 33 Stableford points, with Paul Mather second on 30 points. Tommy Martyn won the Longest Drive, and the three Nearest the Pin were won by Ant Johnson, Ste Lloyd and Dave Houghton.

Thanks to those who attended and a shout out to new member Kai who played his first round.

Next fixture is at Marland Golf Club on 10th May.

Our 2026 season got off to a fantastic start at Knott End Golf Club. 13 players made the journey and results and the results were as follows:

- CK took 1st place with 39 points, with Tommy M 2nd on 34 points (but only on countback from 3 others). (Shout out to our guest Ant who scored 38 points but was ineligible for prize money.)
- Longest Drive won my Mike P.
- Of 3 x Nearest Pins, only 1 was won, by CK. Considering one of the not won was only 110yds, we must do better.

We look forward to our next fixture at Dunscar Golf Club on 19th April.

Our season opener at Knott End Golf Club is next Sunday. We currently have space for 3 additional players so if you fancy joining us next Sunday 22nd, feel free to reach out. Tee times are first come, first served.

Just 1 month until our first fixture of 2026 at Knott End Golf Club. And today the sun made an appearance for the first time in weeks.

If anyone is interested in joining our society for the upcoming season, send us a message in Facebook messenger and we’ll let you know what you need to know. Or alternatively, speak to the landlord at the Red Lion, Lowton.

New members welcome. Our joining fee is £30 for the season and each fixture you attend is £42. None joiners (or guests) can still play any fixture for £42, subject to spare places being available, but are ineligible for prize money.
