Mmmmmm.... Looks delicious right?

Food = Fuel

Did you know... 1 in 5 women have been reported to have an unhealthy attitude to food. And two of the most common that I see is under-eating and.or binge eating.
Unfortunately, this is due to years of trending fad diets, misconceptions/old wives tales and a general lack of quality educating through our development 😞

So let me ask you this:
🌱Do you feel tired all the time?
🌱Do you experience irritability a lot?
🌱Are you frequently ill?

Whilst these could be related to other factors, they could also be signs that you are under-eating.

Whether you are looking to lose weight or just have a busy schedule so eating isn't a priority, you don't have to feel this way. There are some easy tricks you an implement that will help you get those ever important nutrients and calories.

And guess what? You can eat foods like this and still lose weight 😲and still be the thriving boss lady that you are!

🤓Unpopular truth: There is no magical wand that gets you the result easy and overnight.. You have to turn up and be consistent!

But there are a few things you can keep in mind to help you along your way and reach those desired results.... ☝️

If in doubt, seek out support and advice from a coach. A coach will be able to help you build a program with effective progression, support you along the way mentally, advise or alternative exercises and much more.

2024 is your year for greatness... 🌱 and I will be here to cheer you on all the way!

What are your thoughts on weighing yourself?

This can be a real divisive topic so I thought I would share my thoughts on those 'dreaded scales'...

Stepping on the scales can be both positive and negative... but if you are falling into the negative camp, then perhaps you aren't using them healthily 🤷‍♀️

Understanding how much you weigh can give you awareness of where you are starting and how you are progressing (if that correlates with your goals).
But if you are checking every day or multiple times a day, it can become a real negative and de-motivator (your body will fluctuate throughout the day and throughout your cycle and for some more than other🧐).

What the scales won't tell you is...
🌱 how your body composition and shape has changed
🌱 how your jeans are no longer digging in to your belly button
🌱 how you have been able to run that 5km effortlessly and under your target time
🌱 how you have become strong and more mobile in everyday life
🌱 how your confidence has flourished and that smile beamed

There is so much more to embracing a healthier lifestyle or a weight loss journey...and the scales cannot tell you the full story.

So if your ambition this month is to embark on a healthier way of life, remember that progress takes all shapes and sizes... so be kind to yourself and take those steps away from the scales and out for a walk (got to get that step count up somehow hey 😜)

1️⃣ Love your water bottle - seriously! Find a bottle that you find easy to drink out of and are happy to take around with you everywhere

2️⃣Flavour it - add some fresh lemon or mint or similar to help you feel like it is a little more exciting or perhaps taste nicer (🤫 I filter all my water at home to improve the taste as our water is so hard)

3️⃣ Track it - awareness always precedes change.... how can you get a feel for amount of water you are drinking if you haven't ever tracked it for a period?

Have you ever set off on a health kick, been really enthusiastic and after a week or two felt a bit bored or even lost because you haven't seen any results or you are really enjoying training or the foods you are eating?

I HAVE!!
For about 6 years, I was going to the gym, various classes, various fad-diets.. I even tried running (if you know me, you'll know I love the idea but not the activity 😅). Eventually, I was introduced to a coach and learnt about progressive overload and gained a healthy relationship with food. It was an eye-opener! More so because I finally started to see results and grew an unbroken love for the gym and working out.

The secret is out of the bag... 😱

Creating a daily routine is more than just getting out of bed and getting on with your to-do list. It's about setting the tone for the entire day and promoting efficiency.

The things we engage with during the first few hours of our day have the potential to influence your mood, your decision-making, and even your success throughout the rest of the day.

Here are some specific steps to elevate your morning routine:

1. Allow yourself a mindful minute or 5...
🌱Mindfulness can help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings and make it easier to manage your day-to-day life. Just taking three minutes, can greatly influence your day.

2. Get your body moving...
🌱 Physical activity is excellent for your mind. A quick exercise session or light stroll in the morning can jump-start your metabolism, sharpen your focus, and boost your mood.

3. Encourage yourself with affirmations and smiles...
🌱 Practicing saying positive things to yourself (even just in your mind) can have a big impact on your mindset and confidence levels. Even just giving yourself a quick smile as you walk past a mirror can lift your mood and give you that boost you may just need to 'boss' the rest of your day.
