This morning Tara visited The New Wycliffe in Leicester.

What a lovely morning.
A mixture of residents & visitors enjoying the freestanding board and the Velcro board… 🎯 lots of smiles, encouragement & a good time 👍🏻

Today we had a game of beat the score and everyone did well. Some really good scores being hit & lots of effort.

Todays winner was Brian 🏆
He was telling me how he’d won the trophy before and he was delighted.

This afternoon we were back to the lovely Edwalton Manor. The residents were a little reluctant today but we managed to persuade Olga and Anne to join and play darts. Barry also joined us and he said he couldn’t play darts and he’s a “bowls player.”

Barry showed he could indeed play throwing some big scores and hit some big trebles. The winners today were both newcomers to our session. Margaret and Jean were both stunned to have won and got a gold cup.

We started this morning at Samuel House care home. The darts is particularly popular with the ladies in this care home and it was lovely to welcome Margaret to the session.

It was a game of battleship darts today where the residents would try and sink battleships hidden behind the secret numbers. In a close contest, it would be Heather who would be victorious and claim her 2nd gold cup.

This afternoon Tara visited the lovely Woodthorpe Lodge.

Always a room full of smiling residents here waiting to play darts. 🎯
We had lots of fun today. Lots of good scores hit and plenty of encouragement around the room.

Pam, Roger & Doreen all did well, David & vivienne had a brilliant second round, and Lindle - who is blind was excellent today too!

This afternoon we went back to Fairway View in Nottingham. We had a “ladies club” this afternoon. It was a small group of residents today as a lot were tired from a busy weekend.

That didn’t stop us having a great time, lots of fun and laughter was had throughout the session. We had previous winners Sue and Mabel join us and Mabel would lead after the first round but it would come down to Joyce and Joy in the end.

In fact it was so close that it came down to a bull off as both hit 7 targets each. It would be Joy who would win her first gold cup that she was very proud of.

This morning started in Rothley at Cedar House where the residents look forward to us coming. Today we played battleship darts where the aim of the game is to find the hidden battleships.

A special shoutout to Anne who last time played the Velcro darts but today managed to throw the real darts and hit 3 different ships. Through using a different technique Anne threw the heavy feathered darts and started to find she could still play after all these years since playing with her father.

However, our winners were Frieda and Christina who both managed to sink 4 different ships. Both were delighted to have won the game and win a gold trophy. 🏆

⭐️⭐️⭐️ RESIDENT OF THE WEEK ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This weeks resident of the week comes from midlandscare Magnolia. This is Jack. When we arrived on Friday morning Jack said he didn’t feel like he could play. However, with encouragement Jack did take part and ended being the runner up.

Sometimes we all have days where it can be difficult to get motivated and have a lack of energy. Jack, showed that we occasionally just need somebody to motivate us. 💪🏻🎯

Well done Jack ⭐️⭐️⭐️
