⭐️⭐️⭐️RESIDENT OF THE WEEK ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This weeks resident of the week comes from Ruddington Manor Care Home and is Elsie. Elsie is 101 and loves to come to the darts. Elsie is resilient and determined when it’s her turn at the board. Elsie even hit the bullseye this week and she was so proud of herself. She said “I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, it’s been wonderful.”

We finished this week at Kingsfield Court in Earl Shilton. Due to the hot temperatures we played in a different room today which brought some new players. Roger started off impressively and said he “hadn’t played darts for 50 years,” before Brenda shocked herself not only making her darts stick in the board but hitting the big runs.

However, Janet was not to be denied the gold cup this time as she was pipped to the cup on our previous visit. Janet was delighted to win the gold cup and also the Bully.

This morning it was off to Enderby Grange where we missed some familiar faces due to an outing to Tropical birdland, but gained plenty of new ones. Gwen had great fun at her first time playing darts saying “I really enjoyed that game,” and Jean was our winner taking away the gold cup hitting the bullseye along the way.

We finished yesterday with lots of smiles and happy residents at The Grand Care Centre in Nottingham. Regular John brought his own darts but his support for everyone else was top level and even did the session watched by grandson Lewis.

Anne was our winner though hitting 2 bullseyes and a 6 on our cricket board. Anne has come so far since joining the darts sessions and she always makes sure she comes to play.

This morning it was off to Rivendell view and it was a quiet session this morning where the residents played cricket darts despite the hot weather. Dennis started us off trying to get the bullseye and after several attempts he hit his intended target. However, Marlene was the winner today and was amazed when she was announced the winner of the gold cup.

This morning we went off to St Peter’s care home in Nottingham where the residents were eager to get going. It was all familiar faces today with Bill starting off hitting the first of his 2 bullseyes in the session. Joyce was also delighted to hit the bullseye. However, Margaret impressed scoring 38 runs in just 4 visits to the board winning the gold cup and was delighted. Margaret explained it was the second trophy she had won and will start a collection. 🏆🏆

Yesterday afternoon Tara visited the lovely Woodthorpe Lodge.

Residents & visitors were all keen to play darts 🎯 as always !

We had some fantastic darts thrown right from the start! It’s amazing to see the progress people are making (as this is somewhere we visit regularly!)

Everybody was excellent today!

Sue took the early lead - hitting the bullseye plus some other big trebles, Roger started out really strong - hitting the treble 20 with his first dart! Frank was also really impressive today - being partially sighted - he needed help on where to throw the dart 🎯 and he hit the treble 20 and the treble 18 on his first visit ! Frank ended up finishing in close second place today!

But today’s winner 🏆was Michael…!
He was delighted to win! He’s been joining in with us every time, so today he was really pleased to win.

Yesterday morning the residents at Cedar House Rothley had great fun playing cricket darts with Simon. The residents have come a long way in their darting journeys and are continuing to impress with big scores. The winners were Gaye and Roweena.
