Croft Round 5
Better late than never!
Saturday
Qualifying practice: we got out onto the track put the bike into second gear and it felt like the bike was on ice we didn’t know if it was the new tyres being slippy but after a quarter of a lap we realised the clutch was slipping and pulled off the track not managing to finish a lap meaning we were going off the back of the grid in Race 1
Race 1: We got off to a cracking start making up 9 positions into the first corner leaving us 4th in our class where we managed to work our way through the pack to get 2nd in the first race of the day!
After race 1 we altered our gearing for race 2 which was a bit of a risk due to only ever doing 2 laps on this gearing at Cadwell and it wasn’t right there so it was a bit of a decisive move!
After race 1 we’d moved up to 5th place on the grid due to the positioning on the grid being moved to your fastest lap time in our previous race!
Race 2: We didn’t get off to the best of starts but we still Managed to gain a place off the start into 3rd place in our class then we managed to work our way through to get another 2nd place
After race 2 we were a bit unsure on the gearing but we decided to leave it on for Sundays races!
Sunday:
Race 1: We got off to another good start managing to work our way up to 3rd place again into the first corner! We had got to grips with the new gearing knocking off 1.4 seconds off our fastest lap around Croft managing to get a 1:37.020 finishing off this race with another 2nd place finish!
Race 2: We didn’t get off to as good of a start as usual still 3rd place into the first corner after a few laps 1st place had broken down and was out of the race so it was just down to us to nurse her home in 1st place in the last race!
We are still leading the championship into the last round of the season! It all goes down to the last round of the season at Mallory park on the 19th and 20th of September 👍🏼🏁
