Thanks Yatton for hosting a great event.

YBC held a very successful Open Triples Day at the weekend! The Spritzers, from Long Ashton Bowling Club came 1st. They beat Ashcombe Aces by just a one shot difference. Thanks go to our main sponsors Cadbury Hall Care Home - Barchester Healthcare and also to the following local businesses for their much needed support with sponsorship and raffle prizes - Watkins & Tasker Vets, Keith Britton Funeral Directors, Yatton Hardware and Bell & Stenton.

🏆 Long Ashton Trio Triumph at Yatton!

A huge congratulations to a trio of Long Ashton bowlers who claimed top spot at the Yatton Bowling Club Open Triples Tournament on Sunday 9 June.

The Spritzers – Urszula Eaton, Sarah Buxton and Colin Ramsden – did Long Ashton Bowling Club proud, battling through a fiercely competitive day to secure an outstanding overall victory.

🔥 Match Report – Long Ashton Ladies 🔥

Long Ashton Ladies continue their fantastic run at the top of the Doreen Ralph League table with an incredible comeback victory against Weston St Andrews on Thursday 21 May.

At one stage, the match looked all but lost. With half an hour to go, Long Ashton were ahead in just one game and trailing in two, facing what seemed like an inevitable 8–2 defeat.

But the team had other ideas. Showing tremendous determination and fighting spirit, both trailing rinks dug deep. One game battled back to secure a draw, while the other produced a brilliant late surge to sn**ch a one-shot victory.

The turnaround was nothing short of remarkable—transforming a heavy loss into a stunning 9–1 win.

An unforgettable performance and, without doubt, one of the best fightbacks witnessed on the green. 💪💚

A fiercely contested match saw the Long Ashton men take on Portishead RBL last night, with honours shared across the rinks—two wins each and the fifth ending all square.

In the end, RBL edged the overall result by just a handful of shots, but a determined and resilient performance from Long Ashton ensured the contest remained finely balanced right up to the final wood.

Many thanks to our hosts for a great match played in a great spirit.

The green was buzzing this Sunday at our Long Ashton Bowling Club Community Challenge!

With 16 teams from across the area taking part, it was a day packed with laughter, competition, and plenty of new bowlers discovering the sport. After some exciting matches, big congratulations go to 3 Queens and a Jack and The Occasionals for taking the top spots!

A huge shout-out to our amazing volunteers and our generous supporters—The Bird in Hand, The Failand Inn, The Greedy Goose, and David Lloyd Sports Centre.
And of course, a massive THANK YOU to our brilliant community for making it all happen 💚

Earlier this year, we were honoured to have been chosen, by Long Ashton Bowling Club , as their Charity of the Year 💛

The Club presented us this week with a total donation of £1,500, raised through the generosity of the Club’s members and their amazing fundraising throughout 2025 💥
