🚨 CLUB UPDATE: London Broncos Outline IMG Attendance Strategy 🚨
London Broncos can confirm that, as part of the club’s ongoing planning for the next IMG grading cycle, we have submitted a proposal to formally designate Wembley Stadium as our registered primary venue.
The approach is based on a straightforward interpretation of current IMG criteria, where average home attendance is calculated across a club’s allocated league fixtures.
By registering Wembley as the club’s official home ground, the attendance of the Challenge Cup Final — typically in excess of 60,000 — would be included within those figures.
Under this model, that attendance would be averaged across our 13 scheduled Championship home fixtures, resulting in an average of over 4,500 per game.
Club officials have stressed that the proposal is fully compliant with existing regulations.
A spokesperson said:
«“This is about applying the framework as it currently stands. IMG rewards scale, facilities and attendance — and London has a unique ability to deliver all three when viewed through the right lens.”»
The club would continue to operate from its current matchday venue, while using Wembley as its registered base for grading and strategic development purposes — a structure commonly seen across multiple industries.
The proposal has been submitted to the Rugby Football League, with discussions ongoing.
London Broncos remain committed to growing the sport in the capital and ensuring the club is positioned as strongly as possible within the IMG system.
Further updates will follow in due course.
