Punjab Govt Launches 30,000 Merit-Based Undergraduate Scholarships

The Government of Punjab has announced the Chief Minister’s Honhaar Undergraduate Scholarship Program 2025, offering 30,000 fully funded scholarships to talented students facing financial constraints.

The program covers 100% tuition fees for undergraduate degrees including BS, BA, BSc, MBBS, and others. Eligible applicants must have at least 70% marks in Intermediate (FA, FSc, ICS or equivalent), a Punjab domicile, and a family income of Rs. 350,000 or less (for public sector universities).

TikTok Removes Nearly 25 Million Videos in Pakistan for Violating Guidelines

TikTok has removed nearly 25 million videos from Pakistan during the first quarter of 2025 for violating its community guidelines, according to the platform’s latest Enforcement Report. The company reported a proactive removal rate of 99.4%, with 95.8% of flagged content taken down within 24 hours. Globally, TikTok deleted over 211 million videos, with 184 million removed through automated systems. The most common reasons for removal included misinformation (45.5%), mature or harmful content (30.1%), privacy violations, and AI-manipulated media. The report highlights TikTok’s ongoing commitment to transparency and content moderation. Over 900 Kg of Donkey Meat Seized by Islamabad Food Authority

In a major crackdown, the Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) raided a facility in Tarnol and seized 25 maunds (over 900 kilograms) of donkey meat, along with more than 50 live donkeys.

Officials stated that initial investigations indicate the meat was being prepared for export. A foreign national found on-site was taken into custody and handed over to the police.

The confiscated meat is currently being destroyed, and a case has been registered against those involved. Authorities are also tracing the supply chain to identify where the meat was intended to be sent.

PTA Warns of Fake WhatsApp Messages Aimed at Stealing User Data

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a warning to WhatsApp users about a surge in fraudulent messages sent by scammers posing as the platform’s official account.

These deceptive messages often feature the WhatsApp logo and falsely claim that a user’s account has issues or has violated certain rules. Victims are urged to click on malicious links — a tactic designed to steal personal data or compromise accounts.

PTA has strongly advised users to avoid clicking on any suspicious links, block the sender, and report the message directly to WhatsApp.

To enhance account security, the authority also recommends enabling two-factor authentication, also known as two-step verification.
