Academy 1-4 Hawes. Here’s you match report from Dunny
Acad made the trip up to Hawes on Saturday knowing we were in for a tough challenge as our opponents sat top of the table!
Acad missing all 4 centre halfs didnt aid the cause but we made do and got to it. We came out the blocks really quick with plenty of half chances. We minimised Hawes to very little, makeshift defence of Marsh, Fin, Jim and Dunny stood firm early doors.
Zac Reeve was causing problems in the middle of the park often finding his way through. Just before half time our good friend in goal for Hawes Nathan Walker played the Dog through to sweep home into an empty! A gifted goal but one Academy thoroughly deserved after been on top most the 1st half.
The second half was a different story and Hawes showed there quality! Youngest Academy team we’ve had out all season and we lacked some experience in the 2nd half. Hawes quickly found themselves 2-1 up and dominating the game. Bunta made some great saves to keep the score down. Very minimal chances came for the lads apart from a Dog header which was excellently cleared away. We pushed a lot forwards in the last 5 minutes and were undone twice by 2 good finishes.

Fair play to Hawes good set of lads and shown their quality second half should be a team up there come the business end!
Again tho plenty of graft put in from our young lads who have put 2 valiant performances in the last 2 weeks against 2 top sides.
No game for the lads next week before some tough cup games!
