A BBC Investigative Report was released this week about the world of infant sleep advice and some of the unsafe practices that are knocking about the Internet.

I've said before about how 'noisy' it can be when it comes to gaining advice around anything to do with your child.

Turns out I have a lot to say about it...enough that I wrote an entire Substack article on it. It would mean a lot if you gave it a read. Link is in my bio.

Our first family Parkrun

I have dreamt of days like this since we started trying for a baby.

I'd be on the start line each week looking at all of the families running together, right through our fertility treatment hoping one day we'd get our chance and it's finally here!

I'm so excited for so many more days like this đź’š

6 months of motherhood 🤍

The love is unreal. The shift from me to Mum is real.
And doing it without a village? Also very real.

It’s the little things, the smiles, giggles, tiny cuddles, and his personality shining through that make it all worth it.

But wow, it’s noisy out there. So many opinions, hacks, “must-dos”… it’s easy to feel like you’re getting it wrong.

Learning to tune it out, trust my gut, and do what’s right for us.

How did you filter the good stuff from the utter sh*te out there?

1 in 6 and we’re one of them.

IVF gave us our son, and I’ll always be grateful to the NHS for that chance.

But infertility doesn’t really leave you… it just changes shape.

Still holding a lot of “what ifs” alongside a lot of love 🤍

We're moving away from a trimester-based model of adaptations for this exact reason- training should be adapted based on symptoms, not how far along you are in your pregnancy because newsflash- everyone is different!

Nausea and fatigue for me was next level so I had to reduce my volume and intensity otherwise I wouldn't have been able to function (even if the guidance says you don't have to change anything in your first trimester)

Olympic lifting for me didn't feel great, I didn't enjoy having to navigate around my bump so I opted to swap them out for deadlifts and squats instead (but some pregnant ladies I know and have coached have been able to lift for most of their pregnancies)

Running for me felt great right until the last few weeks -I ran my last Parkrun at 35 weeks (but some ladies I have coached swap running for lower impact cardio earlier in their pregnancies because running didn't feel right for them)

I love the Open for so many reasons.

After 14 years of doing this 👵🏼 it’s still my favourite “competition.” Every year it gives me a little snapshot of where my fitness is at the exact same point in time.

The last two years have actually been my worst finishes ever… but for the best reasons.

Last year I was busy growing a whole human (while battling morning sickness 🤢), and this year I’ve been busy keeping that human alive and thriving.

Honestly, they’ve been the most rewarding years yet. Hudson got to watch both his Mum AND his Nanny do some pretty cool things, and I surprised myself with just how far I’ve come since giving birth.

Where will we be next year? Who knows… but I can’t wait to find out. ✨
