If your life is stagnant, you need to look at what you are putting in. You never hear anyone
saying: “I rise at dawn, I’m exercising my body, I’m studying, I’m nurturing my relationships,

Choose Your Frames

We think in frames. It means we select particular language patterns to describe our experience. Frames are real neural connections that we formed as a result of some experience. Framing is our brain's way to create shortcuts for future events. Something happened to you once, you made a cause and effect conclusion and you will then use this conclusion in all other similar situations.

From your brain's point of view, this is very energy- and time-efficient way of processing information. But for you as a whole, it can serve badly. Imagine how many negative frames you have formed over the years that are now sabotaging your success!

Frames are manifested through the language you use. The language, in return, evokes ideas and memories in your brain.

To change your experience you need to change the way you frame things. When you hear a word or even pronounce it yourself, its frame is activated in your brain.

Here's an example of two identical situations but with a different choice of frame:

You made a bad investment and lost your money. Here are two different frames you could choose for this experience:

1) I suck at investing and I shouldn't have done it. Next time I'll just save money and won't invest in anything again.

2) I made a bad decision on that investment. Perhaps I should learn more about investing and use this negative experience as a lesson.

There are 3 essential qualities that all successful and creative people have:

1. They have a FIXED GOAL that guides their ACTIONS

2. They have a CLOSE FEEDBACK LOOP to test their progress toward GOAL (example: self-observation, peer-accountability, coach, KPIs)

3. They have FLEXIBILITY OF BEHAVIOUR and ACTIONS to achieve their GOALS (they don't change the goal if they fail, they change the approach to achieve it)
