A few ground rules to keep our Social Media channels fun and safe for everyone. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the many benefits which Social Media can off

er, whilst upholding the values of the AKYSB and the Jamat at large. All social media channels involve a certain level of trust and respect. As our community grows we find different ways of staying in contact with each other and we trust you to use it to communicate in a positive way. We must also be respectful in any communication and refrain from using offensive language. Our social media platforms encourage free expression but here are some common-sense rules which will ensure everyone can enjoy it in the right spirit. Please take them seriously, this platform is to promote our values, not to hurt or upset people:
· Do not post content which is intended to offend people or is derogatory in nature. This includes but is not limited to swearing, comments about race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, nationality, veteran status, or sexual orientation/gender identity, countries, teams or individuals.

· Do not post content which promotes or condones violence against individuals or groups for any reason.

· Do not post content which is intended to be shocking, sensational or disrespectful.

· Do not post videos that encourage others to do things that might cause them to get badly hurt, especially children. Videos showing such harmful or dangerous acts may be removed depending on their severity. Predatory behaviour, stalking, threats, harassment, intimidation, invading privacy, revealing other people's personal information, are taken very seriously. Anyone doing these things will be immediately and permanently banned from the page. Please remember that we are privileged to be part of a community that embraces all cultures. . Please stick to the guidance above, if not we may remove your post or you from our online community! Remember that this page has been set up especially for you! Each and every person makes the ESF page what it is. Please do 'like' posts, leave comments and share photos and videos on your wall. ESF 2017 marks the first time Snapchat will be used. It will mainly capture moments of winning teams and individuals. As snapchat is live and primarily used by our younger Jamat, we urge you to refrain from uttering profanities and swearing. We encourage you to celebrate respectfully. Thank you for reading these guidelines and respecting the rules. ESF 2017 Social Media Team

Day 5: The Environmental Impact of Technology and AI

Every search, message, and AI prompt has an environmental cost 🌍

Our digital lives run on energy, water, and data centres and that impact adds up.

The good news? Our choices matter.

- Delete unused files,
- stream mindfully,
- charge devices during off-peak hours
- choose refurbished tech where possible.
- Advocate for greener digital practices in your schools and communities.

Our Shia Ismaili Tariqah teaches us that we are stewards of Allah’s creation. Protecting the planet is a responsibility we all share not just for today but for future generations.

Small actions. Big impact. Be part of the solution. 💚

Day 4: Kindness, Respect and Inclusion Online

One Jamat. One family. 🌍🤍

No matter our background, culture, or where we come from, we belong to one community - and that should show in how we act online.

The internet isn’t always kind, but we can be.

- Speak up against cyberbullying and hate.
- Support one another.
- Share positivity and celebrate the diversity that strengthens our global Jamat.

As Mawlana Hazar Imam reminds us, kindness, dignity, and care for others are acts of faith.

Your actions online matter and they can make a real difference.
