Wednesday mornings ☕️

Remind yourself of what you have been able to overcome. All the times you felt like you weren't going to make it through, you proved yourself wrong. You are more powerful than you think.

Accountability?

We often size are selves up to our peers, parents, idols etc and wonder how do we become them or get close to them. I often wonder if we never compared ourselves to people how much better we would be 🤔

Within training you could have the best trainer, coach, physio etc a good team around you. But if you yes YOU don’t put that work in do the small things that are needed how do you expect to become better that small piece of sacrifice will build your character and get you to your goals be ACCOUNTABLE at all times

With whatever the goal may be remain consistent with the work you are putting in behind closed doors, it will pay off may to be today and you may feel like s**t tomorrow. Knowing and trusting the process that hard work will show.

You remember you gym finally opens on Monday 27th January 6am.

It’s been a long 6 months with an amazing group of guys can’t wait to get stuck in and kick off a new adventure Monday morning with the team.

Wishing all my team happiness and a successful journey after these past months of educations, training and team build.

Stepping out the comfort zone or adapting to training and changing for the better?

I’ve always been a fan of Olympic lifting it’s one of those skills that have always amazed me more then someone having a 6 pack or benching 140kg.

Stepping out of the traditional “bodybuilding” training and becoming more mobile is where I feel comfortable but uncomfortable because I’ve learned to push past my barriers because this style of training I feel more rewarding for my goals.

Training should be enjoyable but also rewarding changing up training and stepping out of the comfort will allow you to feel more challenged and feel rewarded more for your hard work which I don’t think we do.

We look at what we feel society will accept us in and run with what everyone is doing within that,
CrossFit is a key thing and that’s not me knocking it because I love CrossFit but it shows how big of a influence it can have on adaptability on training which is amazing making people feel apart of a massive community which is key within training.

How sexy is my lifting face by the way 😫😂.

Sunday... rest day or Sunday training day? (No Denzel)

The older I’ve got the more I’ve understood my body with training and what works for me, I can easily train 6 days and recover.

I’ve been use to it between football swimming and lifting, times have changed I’ve become older and things change a lot. Now I’ve learnt how to factor in my rest days and maximise my lifts and alter my goals, don’t drive your self into depression over you body not getting the results you think you deserve.

Learn about how your body adapts to your lifting record your sessions on paper and video, always stay consistent but remember rest days don’t mean your skipping training.
Your allowing recovery.

Changing your training adding new exercises and goals I guarantee you’ll see massive improvements, without change don’t expect change.

Smiling is the best cure for whatever s**t you feel you are going through, we all have our hard days but it’s our character that gets us out of it.

We need to see the positive even in the worst situations and we’ve probably all had our fair share in life but always remember the end goal.

I’ve learned over the years we can’t cry over and be sad over things out of our control... which a lot of people fail to understand the older I’ve got if I can control something I won’t ever let it get the best of me.

Key point 🔐
1️⃣ Stay Humble
2️⃣ Remain Thankful
3️⃣ Always Be Positive
4️⃣ Continue To Be Hungry
5️⃣ Never Ever Give Up

Struggling with pull ups?
🐒 ➡️ 🦍 (great terminology) ⭐️😅😂

I will post the best exercises to progress into a pull up from start to finish phase 1 etc...

But for those who can do a pull up but want to grow and thicken your Lats
Do you change your grips do you add weight...

A lot of us me included did or do cheat sets not fully extending on the eccentric phase, not allowing enough blood to circulate fibre muscles aren’t tearing for the growth repair and all that other scientific jazz you won’t care about too much...

Doing one to 4 sets a week won’t grow your lats it’s like the whole calf effect you need to train it at least 3 times a week.

Just some basic “Tips” to help you

1️⃣ - Practicing alternative grips for you to build up comfort on what’s best for you, before getting stronger on alternatives.

2️⃣ - Practicing the correct technique, knowing how to position yourself on the pull (not a night out) 😂, engaging your core correctly and being in the pulling phase properly to maximise the movement.

3️⃣ - Hitting the correct rep range to execute the exercises properly for your body, progressive overload, weight load etc... if we can get this right you’re half way there.

4️⃣ - CONTRACTING! Is so key I’ve seen a lot of half reps being done in pull ups, stop rushing and going through the motions when your hitting the extension phase you really need to stop cutting yourself shot. And bouncing back up to the top, losing out on them “gains” 😂

5️⃣- Practice makes perfect if we don’t fail we won’t succeed.

WATER ALERT!! ⚠️⚠️⚠️
A lot of people complain about how difficult it is to drink water
If staying hydrated is difficult for you, here are some tips that can help not be sick of water I hope 🥴

1️⃣ Keep a bottle of water with you during the day. To reduce your costs, carry a reusable water bottle and fill it with tap water.

2️⃣ If you don’t like the taste of plain water, try adding a slice of lemon or lime to your drink. 🍋

3️⃣ Drink water before, during, and after a workout. 🏋🏾‍♂️

4️⃣ When you’re feeling hungry, drink water. Thirst is often confused with hunger. 🍔🍟 True hunger will not be satisfied by drinking water. Drinking water may also contribute to a healthy weight-loss plan. Some research suggests that drinking water can help you feel full.

5️⃣ If you have trouble remembering to drink water, drink on a schedule. For example, drink water when you wake up, at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and when you go to bed. Or, drink a small glass of water at the beginning of each hour.

6️⃣ Drink water when you go to a restaurant. It will keep you hydrated, and it’s free 😂💧
