As the american CDC announced this week that the vaccines do not stop the spread of the virus. We're asking everyone to think carefully about travelling ot the North East. for this Year's Great North RUn.
We understand the organisers are naturally doing everything in their power to host a safer event, yet in the light of never getting any truths or decent advice from any quarter and the fact that WE actually care for our members and the wider running community, we're asking everyone visiting the City to take all the precautions neccessary to keep yourself safe, nevermind anyone else.
You have to remember you're going to by surrounded by 60,000 oher people and we can safely assume not all of them are fit, healthy and care about you, some probably don't care for themselves.
1. Go masked (we supply actual virus masks for Covid 19) and leave it on until you get your open road
2. Prepare the body for the weeks running up to it, feeding it on nothing but fresh (organic) foods, fully hydrate the body and consume lots of vitamin fruits
3. Avoid any chemical concotions to give you energy (go natural)
4. Avoid the alcohol completely as its immune suppressing (go sensible)
5. Make a conscious effort to keep your distance from people, even when we meet up
6. Keep your training solo or with a trusted person
7. Avoid the courtesy of the usual huge hugs (next year will be different)
8. Don't travel if you display symptoms of the virus
Don't let us try put you off. It's the biggest day of the running calendar. We just have to tell you about what we're thinking.
Your thoughts and comments are always welcomed
Fully vaccinated people who get a Covid-19 breakthrough infection can transmit the virus, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said Thursday.
