The London Competition for Traditional Tai Chi Chuan

The London Competition for Traditional Tai Chi Chuan International competition for traditional Tai Chi Chuan, pushing hands and Health Qigong.

The London Competition is organized by Wu’s Tai Chi Chuan Academy in Bethnal Green (www.wustyle-europe.com) with support from the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain. It is an open competition for all recognized styles of Tai Chi, attracting competitors young and old from around the UK, Europe and beyond. The 8th Competition in 2015 saw over 140 people take part, including 28 juniors. It takes place in the first week of June each year, currently at the Clissold Leisure Centre in Hackney. Events include Hand and Weapons forms (solo and group), Health Qigong, and Fixed- and Moving-Step Pushing Hands. The day before the competition, top instructors of leading styles of Tai Chi give master-classes on a particular aspect of the art. The Competition also provides opportunities for those who are interested in becoming competition judges, to gain experience of judging alongside the experts.
