A proud evening for Old Grammarians at the Switch Car Rental Middlesex Volunteers Awards. 💙🦄
Last night, three of our own were recognised at the Spirit of Rugby, Allianz Stadium, for their outstanding contribution to rugby.
A huge congratulations to Sofia, who received the Young Volunteer Award. As one of our U16 players, Sofia also gives up her Sunday mornings before her own training to help coach our U6s, teaching them the fundamentals of the game while making sure every session is full of fun... and, of course, the all-important post-training hot dogs!
We also celebrate Ray Johnston and Patrick Micallef, who were both honoured with 30 Years' Long Service Awards.
Having been part of Old Grammarians since 1995, both have dedicated three decades to the club as players, coaches and volunteers. Ray has introduced hundreds of children to rugby through his work with our U6s, while Patrick coached boys from U7s through to U16s before becoming Head Coach of our girls' section, where he continues to inspire the next generation of players.
These awards are a fantastic recognition of the time, commitment and passion they have all given to our club and to the wider rugby community.
Congratulations, Sofia, Ray and Patrick. We're incredibly proud of you, and every single one of our volunteers. Without you, we couldn't do what we do! 💙👏
