There are four things for me that are the key to getting more IG engagement.
Utilising the right vehicle to deliver the right type of content is key to increasing engagement. This is how a community is built on Instagram, and this is how I engage with my audience and ensure I deliver value to them.
Time and time again, I do hear business owners are overwhelmed with social media and I hate to say it, but social media managers will not cut it for you if you are just starting. Why? Because the more YOU action on your own social media, the more you learn about your audience and what clicks with them. It’s about creating connection and community.
So. Here’s what to START doing in 60 seconds (or 6 slides):
1. People discover you through reels. If you draft and create in bulk, you’ll always have content to post and don’t forget that content plan needs to be aligned with your offer. If you can’t post that day, don’t sweat it. No half-arsed posting pleeeeaseeee….
2. People will connect through DMs and comments. It always makes an impression if you are not replying to comments. This is valid specifically when questions are being asked. Also, don’t forget that’s content right there, so what are you doing missing on capitalising on this opportunity??
3. People feel nurtured through feed posts. Very much like this one. That’s all I am going to say about that.
4. Community building happens through IG stories. I see time and time again coaches post all sorts of random content on their business IG. The stories are not a place to promote other people’s content. They are not a place to provide the value that your reels have. If your branding and your content strategy are not aligned, I can see it immediately through your stories. And IG stories are pivotal for engagement.
