The Solar System is introduced in our Children’s House in preparation for the 1st Great Lesson that happens in the Elementary Community. Children are introduced to the Sun and the 8 planets that orbit. Some examples of what practitioners might discuss with a child who is showing a deeper interest could be ..... “Jupiter is the largest planet, I wonder if you can have a look and see what the smallest planet might be?” (Mercury) If we consider planet Earth and a discussion with a 5 or 6 year old, it might be the different Season’s or the element of Night and Day that truly captures the child’s curiosity.
