What is the Primary PE and Sport Premium?

The Premium is designed to help children get an active start in life, supporting primary schools to improve the quality of their PE and sport provision so that pupils experience the benefits of regular exercise – from becoming healthier both mentally and physically to improved behaviour and better academic achievement. The funding is a ring-fenced grant for English primary schools to provide additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE, sport and physical activity.

From creating entertainment experiences for the entire family to enabling sensory play activities for children.

🎹 Piano - Is a game that supports the benefits of sensory play...

Sensory play activities, in addition to being fun and interesting for children, encourage children to explore and investigate. Furthermore, these activities support children to use the ‘scientific method’ of observing, forming a hypothesis, experimenting and making conclusions.

It also helps children;

▶️ Build nerve connections in the brain

▶️ Encourages the development of motor skills

▶️ Supports language development

▶️ Encourages ‘scientific thinking’ and problem solving

▶️ It can involve mindful activities which are beneficial for all children

The desire to engage with sensory play comes naturally for children and should be encouraged and supported both at home and in early learning environments.
