I couldβve had the full MSc. I couldβve chased the Distinction.
π
But what I really wanted was to learn deeply, integrate fully, and use it to help people.
Continuing to reach a Masterβs certificate wouldβve meant more time doing academic research just to prove something to someoneβ¦
And letβs be honest β it also meant spending a lot more money.
For what? A title? More validation?
I didnβt want to waste my energy or resources chasing something that no longer aligned with what I truly value.
So, I stopped at the Postgraduate Diploma.
I still finished with Merit, while working two jobs and actually living my life; that decision gave me freedom, not regret.
I once went to a βs talk in London and heard him say:
π βOne of the most powerful skills of a successful person is knowing when to quit.β
And that hit me.
Because I used to believe I had to finish everything I started.
That stopping early meant failure.
But I didnβt really quit. I completed what was enough.
I chose to stop when I realised it no longer aligned.
So many of us stay in places β jobs, degrees, relationships β
that no longer fit who weβre becoming.
Out of fear. Out of pressure. Out of habit.
But sometimes, knowing when to stop is the win.
You donβt need to do more just to please a system, a person, or your own ego.
You donβt need more degrees to be enough.
You need clarity. Courage. And the permission to say:
βThis is enough. Now I get to live it.β
π PGDip. Real life. Real purpose.
Thatβs enough for me, in this moment.
Whatβs enough for you? β€οΈ
