It’s been a relentless couple of weeks contractors, equipment, internal training and very long days. My goal is to bring Altrincham the best training facility with the best coaches. A couple more days and we can reveal what we have been working on.

What a day.

The screens, lights and sound system landed yesterday and the team from Mason Sound have been in the studio for two days on the install. One more day to go and I cannot wait to see and hear the end result.

Then today the big one. Ten pallets of kit from Physical. Two hundred boxes. Booked for 10.30, turned up at 3. And that was just the weights and kettlebells add another 12 for the benches not including anything else!

We had no option but to muster the troops. Rachael and Dani dropped everything and came down, along with our youngest (after school of course). Bec on it as always. Without you I would still be in there now buried under cardboard, so thank you, you were brilliant.

Everything is now inside the studio. Shattered, but the buzz is real. This is happening.

The keys are ours.

We signed the lease on Thursday, and Friday was my birthday, so as birthday presents go this one is going to take some beating. It has been a long road to get to this point and at times a painful one, but we are here, and our community officially has a home.

Signing has set everything in motion. The new kit is ordered and the real work on the space starts now. Bec and I spent the whole weekend in the studio clearing out the old and getting it ready for what comes next, and the best bit was how many of you spotted us and stopped in for a chat about what is happening. Those conversations are exactly why we are doing this.

We have already got through a lot, but there is still plenty to do. We are pretty much living here at the moment, so if you are passing and see the lights on, call in and say hello. We cannot offer you a brew just yet, but we will be able to soon.

This is only the start. I cannot wait to get the classes up and running.

TOMORROW: Don't forget there's a FREE Summer Picnic Event in Stamford Square on Saturday 25th July (11am to 6pm).

There will be live DJ sets from Manchester favourites Nite School, family-friendly outdoor games and refreshing drinks from the square's brand-new kiosk.

Foodies will be spoilt for choice too, with freshly made pizza and gelato from Nell's Pizza, delicious dim sum from Yum Cha, picnic favourites from Co-op On The Go, and irresistible sweet treats from The Little Dessert Shop. There's also a free crafts workshop from Sostrene Grene.
