22 years. As a kid who grew up playing soccer his whole life and fell in love with a club 5,000 miles away, this one is special. Saturday mornings, 7am alarms, explaining offsides at the dinner table to people who didn’t care. This was never the convenient choice. It was always Arsenal or nothing.
I watched us rebuild from the absolute basement. A team of misfits nobody believed in, a manager everyone questioned, a fanbase running on hope and muscle memory. Then slowly, something started shifting. The misfits became a squad. The squad became a team. The team became something nobody could stop.
Saka grew up in front of our eyes. Martinelli ran like he had something to prove every single game. Rice brought the steel we’d been missing for years. Arteta turned a culture into a dynasty.
Three seasons of coming so close it hurt. Three seasons of “this is our year” ending in heartbreak. But that’s exactly what makes today so different. This wasn’t luck. This was built.
Delay was never denial. The Culture Club is Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years.
