Francis Drake Bowls Club Sports club Playing bowls is for everyone. Playing bowls is not expensive. You don’t need lots of new kit, and we lend you the bowls.

Whatever your physique, whatever your sporting ability, bowls really is the sport for you and will improve your fitness and wellbeing. Age and gender differences have less impact on a game of bowls than in most sports so it’s a perfect way to spend time and enjoy a bit of friendly competition. Your first coaching session is free. Then you pay as you go, just £3.50 for a practice roll-up session. A

session is up to 3 hours... with a break for tea and biscuits of course! If you decide you want to become a member it only costs £60 for the year and then you pay just £1 per session.

Get playing bowls. Come for one of our free taster sessions and see if you like it. We have two qualified Bowls England coaches to get you started. Just turn up wearing flat soled shoes or trainers so you don’t damage the green. We can lend you all the equipment you need.

We usually have coaching sessions at 10 on Sundays and Wednesdays at 6 but can arrange other times to suit you. Just fill out the form and we will be in touch to arrange a date and time.
