Dumfriesshire Branch of the Pony Club The Dumfriesshire Branch was established in 1932 and is part of Pony Club Area 19.

The Pony Club is the number one organisation for young people who love ponies and riding. There are more than 43,000 Pony Club Members in Great Britain, belonging to either a Branch or Centre – there are more than 350 of each of these. Membership of The Pony Club offers fun, friendship, training, events and competitions. Internationally the Pony Club has a membership of over 110,000 across 18 countries, making it the largest association of riders in the world. Most British equestrian medal winners at the Olympics and World Championships have been members of the Pony Club, including Pippa Funnel, William Fox-Pitt, Heather Fell and many more. Our Branch has around 80 members and throughout the year we hold an annual camp, rallies, competitions, games, fund raising events, fun rides, stable management lessons and much more. As a charity ourselves we rely on volunteers and donations to run competitions, hold events and ensure that children can gain as much experience and training as possible.

Over the weekend we were represented at the BE Youth Championship held at Bishop Burton.

Tara Kane represented Scotland and Dumfriesshire Hunt Pony Club in the BE100 under 18 class, she did an excellent job piloting a novice pony at that level of competition! Well done Tara

Zurie Dempster also Dumfriesshire Hunt Pony Club represented in the 2* , first time for Obie at this level and was second! She also won the highest placed PC Member.

Excellent to see the club being represented at this level and we are very proud of you both.

Exciting futures ahead which started with Pony Club rallies and roots
