LELCHRYD FC ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE JAY KENNEDY AS OUR NEW 1ST TEAM MANAGER! 🔴🔵

We’re delighted to welcome Jay Kennedy (JK) to Llechryd FC as our new 1st Team Manager.

JK comes to the club with a wealth of coaching experience, having worked within professional clubs, non-league football and most recently the Pembrokeshire League with Merlin’s Bridge FC.

He also holds his UEFA A Licence, bringing a fantastic level of knowledge and experience both on and off the pitch.

After turning down opportunities elsewhere this summer, we’re delighted that JK has chosen Llechryd and we’re looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.

JK had this to say on his appointment:

“I’m delighted to be at the club. I’ve met the players and they’re a great bunch and technically very good.

I was looking to get back into the game after a couple of years out and I’ve been speaking to Llechryd for a few weeks now to get this over the line.

I’m delighted to finally get started, with my first game at home on Saturday against Cardigan Town.”

Two big tests for Llechryd this Saturday as both sides are on the road.

FIRST TEAM | Llechryd AFC vs Cardigan Town FC

After last weekend’s defeat, the first team will be looking to bounce back immediately. A local derby against Cardigan Town brings another tough challenge, but the boys will be determined to put things right and get back to winning ways.

The seconds are absolutely flying at the moment, carrying some serious momentum into what looks like one of their toughest tests yet.

New Quay are a strong side with plenty of history in the Ceredigion League, so this will be a proper test of where the seconds are at.

🔵 LLECHRYD 1ST TEAM 2–3 NEWCASTLE EMLYN

The 1st team started the afternoon brilliantly, getting the ball down, playing some excellent football and looking really fluid from the first whistle.

That early pressure was rewarded when Cory Davies produced an absolute thunder strike to put Llechryd 1–0 up. Chances followed to extend the lead, but we couldn’t quite find that second goal.

The second half then exploded into life, goals, tackles, decisions and plenty of drama. A proper game for the neutral, with both sides going at it until the final whistle. Gwion Howell also with the second goal which was another great strike.

Despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance and the way the boys played in the opening stages.

🔴 LLECHRYD RESERVES 2–0 CPD LLANON

Another win for the seconds as they continued their winning run with a deserved 2–0 victory away at Llanon.

And once again, Will Jenkins produced something special, another contender for goal of the season already with an absolute rocket! 🚀

Evan Lewis was also back on the scoresheet, continuing to show exactly what a signing and player he is becoming for this side. ⚽️

Plenty of positives to take: another clean sheet, another win, boys travelling away together and, most importantly, a real togetherness within the group.

Football Saturdays are back 👌

After another huge weekend for the club, both Llechryd sides are back in action this Saturday as Game Week 3 gets underway — and there’s plenty to get excited about.

Our last Nippers & Under 6s session before the season starts! 🎉

We’re still looking for more Under 6s to come along and join us for some games this winter. ⚽️

It’s all about having fun, learning new skills, building confidence and making new friends. Football should be enjoyable, and that’s exactly what we want our youngest players to experience at Llechryd. 💙

If your little one is 4–6 years old, come along and give it a go — everyone is welcome, whether they’ve never kicked a ball before or they’re already football mad! 🙌

⚽️ SIX POINTS ON THE ROAD! ⚽️

Crymych 1–3 Llechryd ✅

The first team were brilliant up in Tegryn, showing real character to dig in and get the job done. We moved the ball well and every player worked tirelessly from start to finish.

Llion Williams opened the scoring with a great finish before Liam Doherty produced a sublime strike to put us two ahead. Crymych pulled one back, but Rhydian Davies had the final say—meeting an excellent Cory Davies cross with a superb left-footed volley. Cory was fantastic after coming on.

Bargod 2-3 Llechryd reserve ✔️

The seconds once again produced a fantastic team performance away at Bargod. Every player worked hard for one another, with goals from Sean Davies, Evan Lewis and Alfie Bellars securing another excellent victory on the road. Evan has been outstanding since joining the club.

Come and be part of our fantastic village club! We offer plenty of opportunities, loads of games and, most importantly, lots of fun and enjoyment for everyone.

Training starts this Friday at 6pm at Llechryd Sports Club.

Bring the children along for a kickabout and stay for a drink in the clubhouse afterwards!

New players are welcome across our Under 6s, 8s, 10s, 12s and 13s.

⚽️ MATCHDAY BUILD-UP | GAMEWEEK 2 ⚽️

Both senior sides are back in action tomorrow evening with two tough away fixtures.

The first team travel to Crymych looking for a strong response after a difficult opening night at St Dogs. We know the standards within this group, and Tuesday offers the perfect opportunity to put things right and get our season moving.

The reserves head to Bargod Rangers full of confidence after an excellent opening-day victory. Following promotion last season, the boys will be determined to build on that positive start and show they belong at this level.
