Some mixed emotions over the weekend.

After a bit of back and forth on whether to even give it a go, with everything that’s been going on lately.

We decided to just show up and give it our best, especially with it being on our doorstep.

We pushed hard on a seriously congested track and ended up waiting well over a minute for a rower… which earned us a pretty pathetic 20 seconds off our time 🙃

It took a bit of time to get over the disappointment yesterday, but looking back

76th out of 2,500
8th in our age category
1:02:18 finish time

A respectable performance. Not what we wanted, but it is what it is.

Having high standards is both a blessing and a curse. Truth is, even if we’d hit exactly what we wanted, we’d have just moved the goalposts and been satisfied for about five minutes anyway 🤣

What actually matters is

The people in our corner who always show up for us,

The fact we fought right to the end, even when we knew the dream was gone after the row

And the countless PBs and unreal success stories from our members over the last five days 💙

On to the next 👊
