The match report you don’t want to write but you should do to recognise the team’s journey and all of their hard work. Cup Final day for FC Northern U14 Blues vs. Redgate Rovers of the 1st division and unfortunately it wasn’t to be for us. We asked the squad to put everything on the line for the chance to lift the cup and once again they delivered playing with great intensity from kick off looking solid at the back, dogged in midfield and dangerous up front on the counter. In a very close 1st half we matched a very organised and slick passing Redgate and could have gone in front through a superb long ranger from Dec that cannoned off the bar and a jinking run from Paddy that was denied by a smart save. Honours even at the break and a chance to reset for the 2nd half which saw us quickly fall behind to a set piece though. Two further goals, including a great finish, soon after set us further back. Credit to the team though who never stopped trying to get back into the game and a neat finish by Zack from a corner pulled one back for us to make the last 10 min interesting which could have been even more interesting if Dec was unluckily not again denied by the crossbar. Always a difficult result to take but the squad should be very proud of themselves for giving everything and playing so well on the journey to and in the final. Players of the day today were Eric and Ted. Eric was great in goal making some very good saves and Ted for a driving performance trying to keep Redgate out, get us a goal back and get the best out of his teammates. Heads up and well done all; a good season and a great achievement to get to the Cup Final💪⚽️ Crosby Physiotherapy & Sports Injuries Clinic

A season of injuries galore, but the boys as a collective stepped up like giants.

Losing semi finals on penalties, beating academies & out- playing high level sides.

Finished the season with 2 wins & 2 clean sheets. Resilient, robust, talented, terrible at pens 😆 - just a team of mates who happen to be good footballers.

Thanks for season 25/26 gents, get rested/fit & see you for the presentation night 👏 💪 ⚽️

U14 Yellows lost 2-0 in shield final. Lads were brilliant, couldn't have done much more. Just couldn't score. Some great performances. Best game yet I've seen from Tom, and Archie and Charlie in the middle were both outstanding. Don't think they lost a challenge all day. Fantastic performances! Just a pity we couldn't put the ball in the back of the net! Well done boys, excellent performance. 💪💪 Sudden Sam

A massive well done to u11 FCN Dynamos winning the cup 🏆
Could not have asked for anymore from the boys today. They started the game with the right attitude & continued with it all the way through.
All the boys were up for it 💯 & there was no way they were going to be beaten.
Each & every one of the boys today played for each other, not just themselves & it really showed & paid off on the pitch.
Made up for them all as they thoroughly deserved the win 🏆 NJR Travel Solutions

A professional performance from FC Northern Blues u14 in our last league game of the season against Finn Harps. A good start looking to play our football saw us take the lead with a snapshot from Paddy. As the half wore on we lost our shape and composure a little and let Finn Harps back in. A reset at half time allowed us to refocus and get back to moving the ball better and we were rewarded with 3 quick goals as a result of tidy patterns of play; Arthur getting his 1st goal after great work from Declan who then got on the scoresheet himself via a great assist from Ethan who also played Paddy in for another rocket. We then saw the game out well in the face of late pressure with Eric making some smart stops to preserve a clean sheet. Good performances today from Will and Arthur in midfield but players of the day go to Erin for an excellent performance at the back not
Letting anything past and playing forward accurately and positively and to Declan for another tireless performance up top working hard on and off the ball to press the defence and create and finish his chances. Well done all; onto the Cup Final next week 💪👍⚽️ Crosby Physiotherapy & Sports Injuries Clinic

It's hard to put into words how I feel after that game. Totally mixed emotions.
So proud of the way the girls approached the game, the effort each one of them put in and how they never stopped, right up the to last minute but obviously disappointed for them that they didn't get the result.
As their coach I didn't care if they won or lost as long as they gave everything and we couldn't have asked for any more, it just wasn't our day.
You need a bit of luck sometimes and today every bobble seemed to go against us.
They're a special bunch and I'm just glad that even in defeat they could smile and celebrate what's been another brilliant season.
Their development has been incredible to watch and I feel honoured to be part of it; I might be the one that gives the instructions but it's their team and what a team they are.
The friendships that have formed and the joy it gives to them is why we keep coming back every week.
Anyway, player of the game, with some absolute worldie saves and brilliant command of her area our cat (in her hat) Ava. What a performance.
Well done girls. Keep shining you crazy Diamonds. .ac.uk

A brilliant effort from the boys today against a very good side. From start to finish they worked tirelessly, battled for every ball and showed exactly what they’re all about as a team.

The determination, attitude and teamwork on display was excellent and we couldn’t be more pleased with how they approached the game. They never stopped competing and matched the opposition with real character and desire throughout.

Most importantly, the boys played with smiles on their faces and gave absolutely everything for each other, which is all we can ask for.

As we head into the summer, we’ll look forward to plenty of tournaments and opportunities to keep the boys active, improving and enjoying their football together. A great way to finish and lots to be proud of.

Belter game that for U14 Yellows last night. The lads played really well and fully deserved the 2-2 draw. Big Joe coming up from the back last minute to bang it in, nearly pitch dark. Loved that me!
First half Crosby Stuart were better, but we stuck at it and only 1 nil down at half time was a good outcome. Liam and then Charlie doing well too keep Kaiden quieter than he can be! (What a player btw!)
Second half we were excellent. Attitude, desire, effort from all of them, playing some really good footy in parts. Unlucky not to score a couple more tbh. Can't name everyone otherwise this would be even more like War and Peace than it already is, but all of them deserve a personal mention. However, Archie and Ahaan joint MOTM, as picked by their coach. Couldn't agree more, although there were several others in with a good shout! Don't under estimate that result, they are a quality side and battered us last time, so it was a great turnaround tonight and what we want to see every week. Well done boys! 💪💪👏👏 Sudden Sam

Always going to be a tough game on Sat for the U14 Blues against the runaway league winners; a very talented River Juniors, but despite losing the war, the team won the battle with a spirited and dogged performance that they should be proud of. We asked the team to show a good attitude and commitment to their game and they did that beyond measure. A solid start with good discipline and organisation limited River to few chances and some great counter attacking opened up a few good chances for ourselves. Unfortunately we fell behind to a smart finish from River just before the break in a very good 1st half performance. We asked for more of the same in the 2nd half and credit to the team who kept battling with great determination at the back and trying to play positively going forwards. As fatigue set in we slipped behind to another River goal from a set piece but the team never stopped trying up until the final whistle. Some really good performances today across the park; Ethan using the ball well to get us forward, Will battling away on the flanks, Declan working hard up front on and off the ball, Eric made some smart stops in the 2nd half and Ted tidying up well at the back and looking to start attacks. Players of the Day though go to Bobby for another towering performance at the back and to George for his best game yet looking calm on the ball, using it well and winning his duels. Well done team; a good performance to take us into the cup semifinal next week 👍💪⚽️ Crosby Physiotherapy & Sports Injuries Clinic
