Win vs Mossley Hill

Goals
Ava ⚽️⚽️⚽️
Annie ⚽️⚽️
Elisabeth ⚽️

Much improved performance this week with a full team and players looking back to their fitter selves.

First half started with a total dominance from Maghull with their keeper making some absolutely outstanding saves. Ava opened the scoring with some calm footwork in the box and then slotting it home, following it up with another shortly after. The quality of balls through to Ava and Annie in particular second to none, with Chloe and Lyla pulling strings in the middle. Annie showed perseverance and finally got her goal. After 30 mins it’s no exaggeration that we could’ve been up by double figures, however a goal from nowhere, dipping under the crossbar meant Mossley sensed they were still in it.

Second half we were tested early on and done what was required which was ultimately keeping Mossley from scoring. Annie and Elisabeth adding to the score sheet for maghull.

Last week was so frustrating knowing how good we can be, but even the best have off weeks 💪🏼

Glad going into the festive break back on a high. Well done girls, hope you and all your families have a fantastic Christmas and see you back in the new year where we will 100% plan something for you all to do as a team.

Draw vs No9 (1-1)

Goals:
Annie ⚽️

Awesome performance today. Really proud of every girl. We went toe to toe all over the pitch and honestly endured some dominate spells which could’ve seen us win it. Second half the girls listened and we started to show more confidence moving up the pitch, giving Annie options, or quite simply making their defence work by pulling them out wide, which ultimately allowed us to reap the rewards with Annie scoring.

We know the quality they posses and we can’t ignore that, but we need to accept that on our day we are just as good, if not better and today I think we showed that.

Well done girls, have a great weekend 👏 👏👏👏👏

Draw vs Pilkingtons 1-1

Goals :
Sophie ⚽️

Tough conditions today with rain, wind and a muddy pitch but that didn’t really put us off our game.

First half we started off strong and created plenty of chances but just couldn’t convert any. Pilks grew into the game the longer the half went on and a great defensive performance from Lily, Laila and Sophie, not to mention some safe hands from Anna, meant we went into half time 0-0. Pilks player sent off (8 min/sin binned) for foul language towards the ref.

Second half, against 10, we didn’t take advantage and one lapse of concentration allowed Pilks to score against the run of play, leaving Anna no chance.

Annie kept getting in to spaces, holding the ball up, and working the pull back line but she constantly had 3 players around her. Finally breaking the line and through on goal she was clearly taken out. Free kick given. Even though it she was the last player the ref gave no card. Only consolation was Sophie stepped up and scored an amazing free kick, tipping just below the cross bar giving their keeper no chance.

Really poor decisions (both ways) all game from the ref. He said if it was a cup game then he would’ve sent the player off which is ridiculous.

Happy with the draw, with no subs available second half we worked extremely hard. Hoping Ava gets on the mend and comes back stronger 💪🏼

Well done girls, Have a great weekend all ⚪️🔵⚪️🔵⚪️🔵⚪️

Win vs Remyca 6-2

Goals:
Annie ⚽️⚽️⚽️
Cerys ⚽️⚽️
Sophie ⚽️
Brilliant effort from the girls today, with only 10 we still managed to dominate the game, playing most of it in their half. First half we went 1 down and the girls quickly reorganised themselves, regained composure and Annie scored the equaliser.

Second half, Cerys started the goals with a corner which deflected in. Sophie managed to squeeze the next into the near post. Cerys scored a worldie from a free kick 30-40 yards out. And Annie finished it off with a determined finish which the keeper was close to.

Some really outstanding passing and link up play today , the through balls from Faye, Evie, Chloe Cissi and Cerys were outstanding. Credit to make Remyca the team who looked tired.

Well done girls. 👏 👏👏👏👏🔵⚪️🔵⚪️🔵⚪️

Win vs Mossley Hill

Goals:
Annie ⚽️⚽️⚽️
Cerys ⚽️

Both teams came together to hold a minutes silence before the game and show their respect during remembrance weekend 🙏🙏

Mossley Hill came out on the first half on the front foot, launching balls over the top which tested our back line who comfortably dealt with any threat, but at times struggled to find composure to take control.

Annie came on and her pace immediately caused Mossley problems and it wasn’t long until she took advantage getting 2 goals in quick succession.

Second half we began to pass the ball better and were quick to win second balls over the pitch. Annie was still a huge threat and gained an assist after pulling the ball back from the bye line for Cerys to tap in.

Mossley edged back in the game, scoring from a penalty after Anna went the right way but just couldn’t keep it out, and Mossley scored another straight after.

We made a couple of changes to counter any more threat coming through and Faye slotted Annie through to regain complete control.

A well battled game against a physical Mossley team, but credit to their players who were gracious in defeat and all came and shook hands afterwards.

Well done girls 👏👏👏

Win vs Next Level

Goals:
Annie ⚽️
Cerys ⚽️
Ava ⚽️

Today was always going to be a tough test against a team who have not been beaten so far this season.

First half the football on show by Maghull was outstanding. Players showed real composure in accepting and passing the ball and were not afraid to go toe to toe for every winnable ball. The midfield picked the passes and were rewarded when Ava slotted the ball through for Annie to get the opener. Cerys scored the second with a beautiful strike outside the box, lobbing the keeper giving her no chance.

Second half we were quick to stay on the front foot, with Ava taking immediate advantage and going 3 up inside the first couple of minutes. The remainder of the half the girls worked relentlessly to put bodies in front of the ball and keep the clean sheet, even when Next level were starting to find a rhythm.

Win or lose today and I would’ve still been happy as the girls played outstanding and easily the best performance of the season

Well done girls 👏 👏 👏 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️🔵⚪️
