What a start to the season! We did it with a bang! It was a victory vs Future City.

It was quite literally like we have never been away. So proud of all 6 players, they were all selfless throughout, covering for each other and always looking to pass and move.

MOTM was difficult as they all brought something. Whether it was goals, assists, passing, tacking or saving….they were outstanding. However, Tommy won the award. Our rock at the back, he showed excellent decision making in 1v1 and 2v1 situations. Well done Tommy.

A great start to the season for our U10 Yellows against a team who had some very good players in their midst. Played throughout in a great spirit with every lad playing their part. A fantastic first half saw all our goals and could maybe have added some more. Notable performances from Lucas whose decision making for coming out to relieve the pressure was great and also made some fantastic saves. The way midfield rotated around each other and supported each other with great tracking back and explosive going forward was great to see.

Woody - some great crosses into box today which could have easily led to a few more goals and was really unlucky not to get in score sheet himself. Great start to season

So STRIPES, here are the coaches’ thoughts and yes, it’s positive.
Regardless of the result, we cannot fault the effort from any of the boys. There were so many individual moments, big tackles, and real signs of improvement.
We had a poor first quarter and conceded too many, but then we grew into the game. Each quarter we conceded less and less, which is amazing 🤩. We picked ourselves up and went again, and we were super unlucky not to score.
What really stood out was the positional play. The boys stayed in position, didn’t chase the ball like headless chickens, and showed discipline that’s massive progress.
That team we played is brand new, and honestly they’ve probably been placed a bit too low. We’ve got other fixtures coming up against teams we’ve already played and done well against, so don’t be disheartened.
STRIPES we go again. If we won every week, it would be too easy. The challenge is good, and we accept it. We can do this.
