Go on team Ireland, and especially our very own Lydia McQuillan!!!! All the very best in the final from everyone at LRSC 👏💪

🤩 The Ireland women’s team of Hannah Craig, Breanne Flynn, Aimee McConnell and Lydia McQuillan have secured promotion at the European Championships.

They will now feature in Division 1 in 2027 for the first time since relegation in 2016.

Pitted against Portugal in Friday’s Division 2 semi-final in the Netherlands, wins from McConnell and Craig clinched a 2-0 win for the Irish without the need for Flynn to play her match.

Aimee McConnell WON 3-0 (11-3, 11-8, 11-9) v Mariana Martins

Hannah Craig WON 3-0 (11-5, 11-0, 11-3) v Elise Romba

Breanne Flynn DNP v Catarina Nunes

Saturday’s final in Amsterdam will be against Hungary, starting at 12:30pm local time (11:30am Irish).

Well there you have it, I always knew this must be the case!! 🫣🤣

Well there you have it, I always knew this must be the case!! 🫣🤣

You always suspected it… now it’s confirmed.
The squash ball isn’t just tricky—it’s engineered chaos with a personal vendetta.

Play long enough and you’ll see it too.

LRSC Presidents Cup Tournament 2025/26

And that's a wrap folks! After two weeks of 22 of our players battling it out in this handicapped tournament, yesterdays finals day gave us our victors. The finals for both the plate, and the main cup event took place (although due to injuries, our third/fourth playoff for the cup didn't take place), along with a tournament for our beginner ladies.

Fantastic squash was played by all competitors with plenty of skill, grit, sportsmanship, sweat and fun on show for all to enjoy.

After the matches were completed, the celebrations began. Plenty of tasty food, drinks and sunshine, followed by our awards ceremony, all rounded off with some top notch live entertainment provided by our very own club member Nick Conway and his band.

A great day to round off a fantastic season of club play and league play, which included our mighty A team bringing home the title of Ulster squash league North & East division 1 winners.

Congratulations to all of our winners and indeed all those who took part. And a massive thankyou to the LRSC committee and all the members who have helped make everything happen throughout the season.

The match ups for Presidents cup finals day have been decided!!!

Last night saw all of our semi finals taking place for both the Presidents Cup, and the plate tournament.

Semi final No.1 for the main cup event was Gavin versus Phil. Phil came out with focus taking the first game, but Gavin came back with grit and determination to create a nip and tuck second game with Phil eventually managing to come out on top. A 2-0 victory to Phil.

Semi final No.2 for the main cup event brought us Stuart versus Josh, youth versus experience. A well coached Josh with huge amounts of skill gave Stuart a very tough match, with both players showcasing superb squash for us to enjoy. Stuart came through to take the win 2-1.

Semi final No.1 for the plate event saw Stephen taking on first time Presidents cup participant, Jack. A great match up resulting in a hard fought battle. Jack's focus won out, with him eventually taking the match 2-0.

Semi final No.2 for the plate brought us James Vs Andrew. Game one saw James playing some lovely shots to fend off Andrews battling. In game 2 Andrew came out strongly and skilfully winning multiple points in a row to overcome the handicap. This brought the game to a very tight finish with it coming down to the deciding point at 14 all. James managed to focus well and sneak over the line. Match score 2-0 to James.

It has been a fantastic couple of weeks of Presidents cup play from all 22 players taking part. And now we can't wait for finals day on Saturday (25th April), so we can find out who is going home with the silverware.

Cup final: Phil Vs Stuart
Plate final: James Vs Jack
Cup 3rd/4th placing: Josh Vs Gavin

The day will be happily rounded off with food, award presentations, and live band entertainment at the bar.

And of course not to forget proper celebration time for our Ulster squash league Division 1 winning team for the 2025/26 season!!!!

Saturday is going to be a jam packed day of squash down at LRSC.

Not only are we holding our own club finals day for the 'Presidents Cup Tournament' and a tournament for our LRSC women's beginner players, but we are also playing host to the Squash Ulster Cup Finals.

There will also be social play for all organised by . A great opportunity for friendly games against players from clubs across Ulster.

And to top it all off, we will enjoy some great food, awards will be presented, and then we party at the LRC bar with entertainment provided by LRSC's very own Nick Conway and his band. It's guaranteed to be a great day of events, so make sure you don't miss out.

Last night marked the end of Lisburn Racquets Squash Club's free 4 week Beginners program for women, facilitated by Squash Ulster .

Each week we had up to 10 ladies come along and receive coaching from head coach Lewis, who taught us the basics and led us through drills and mini games. Everyone came with fantastic enthusiasm and participated brilliantly. Some great squash played, lots of laughs had, and plenty of calories burned in the heated courts 😂.

Our goal at LRSC is always to promote this brilliant game and attract new players, and from what I saw during this program, those ladies who attended it have definitely caught the bug!! Keep on playing ladies, we can't wait to see you at the club again 😉

And our 2025/26 Division 2 Ulster Open Squash League, season has now come to a close following a much enjoyed final match at LRC last night, as we hosted our friends from Ballymena Squash Club.

With some strong play across the board, our team made up of Nick, Niall, Stephen and Charlie, took three wins from the four matches. A great winning end to the season to rack up more points.

It took us a while to get into our stride this season which sees us ending in 8th position, but with match play experience increasing, and skill levels improving, our division 2 players are all set up to hunt down a higher league place next season 😉.

Both our division 1 and division 2 teams have thoroughly enjoyed the league competition throughout the year with all the other clubs. And now we look forward to ending our own season in-house, with the hotly contested Presidents cup title up for grabs in April!

Six team players through the season, 14 matches, 4 walls and countless lung busting rallies...and now Division 1 champions!!!!

Congratulations to our fantastic A team who participated in division 1 of the Ulster Squash league throughout this 2025/26 season. A really strongly contested division with well matched teams, and hard fought battles all season.

It was nail biting to watch at times, and came down to the very last match of the season, but that's how we like our squash. So proud of the grit and determination that all our players showed every Tuesday night. Well done Stuart (team captain), Gavin, Chris, James, Nick and Phil for bringing this year's title home to Lisburn Racquets Club.

Enjoy the celebrations 🏆

And well played to all of the teams who participated, a great showcase of squash skills from everyone involved, and great to be part of.

Thanks for organising it all, and making it happen every year.
