We are delighted to announce that Andy Kelsey, an Invictus Games cycling gold medallist, is going to open the Sports Day for us along with our new County Councillor Floss Mitchell. Andy's parents live in Liphook and he currently works at the University of Surrey.
Andy competed in the first Invictus Games in London, winning two silver medals in the time trial and road race.
Andy had unfinished business with the Invictus Games so was
delighted when he won gold at the event this year in Orlando.
Andy was an Air Loadmaster in the Royal Air Force when he was involved in a rock climbing accident whilst on a leadership training exercise, resulting in permanent damage to his spinal cord leading to life as a quadriplegic.
We are absolutely delighted that he will be joining us on the day to perform the official opening at Bohunt School at 10.30am and he will also take a tour of all the sports on the day.
