🟡 Old Pond 6–6 Linthwaite ⚫️
A game that had everything… except defending (for both sides)
If you’d rocked up 25 minutes in, you’d have thought this one was heading for early showers and emotional damage. Four goals down in under half an hour, and usually that’s our cue to drop our heads, check the clock, and mentally start the post‑match debrief.
But not tonight. Not this lot.
Storm decided enough was enough and casually helped himself to four goals, while Kal & Kayden chipped in to turn panic into belief and collapse into the best performance of the season. We absolutely saved the best for last, going through the gears in the final 20 minutes of the first half like a team who’d just remembered they were actually quite good at football.
Then came the second half… and chaos truly clocked in.
Within 15 minutes, we somehow found ourselves 5–4 up, leaving everyone asking the same question: how has this happened? Had it not been for Eesa missing two one‑on‑ones in the first half (proof that even gloating players occasionally forget where the net is), the story might have been very different. Or it might not — because this game clearly ignored logic anyway.
Credit to every single player tonight for being fearless, brave on the ball, and showing just how far this group has come over the season. The fight, the belief, and the refusal to lie down summed up everything we’ve been building towards.
Special shout‑out as well to our resident ultras, Zoe & Evie, whose non‑stop vocal support powered us through the madness. The lads definitely heard you - and judging by the performance, possibly feared disappointing you.
A 6–6 draw.A rollercoaster.A show.
What a way to end the season 👊🏼
