2025 What A Year It Has Been 😁

Starting out much like previous years. Assistant Manager in Linlithgow, big family plans with weddings and holidays to attend and just trying to enjoy life as best we can.

The start of the year went well. Taking part in some fun charity events cycling from Falkirk all the way to Edinburgh was certainly a highlight 😂.

Fast forward to June and finding out I was given the opportunity to move to the Falkirk Puregym as Assistant Manager to help the team there and progress my skills at helping run a bigger and busier gym.

Onto October for the holiday of a lifetime going to Orlando with my family. Was an amazing experience to be able to take the kids for the first time, and fingers crossed not the last 🤞

Then we flew right into December, where I have ended the year on a massive high by moving back to PureGym Linlithgow but this time getting a promotion as I am now the gym manager 😁

Can't wait to go into 2026 and have all new challenges to face and work closely with the team in Linlithgow again! 😊

Long time coming but finally an update on my career/ Personal Training business, quite frankly I've just been lazy not doing this sooner 😂

As I previously shared I stepped into management as the Assistant Manager at Linlithgow back in 2023 but as of July this year I transferred over to become the Assistant manager for PureGym Falkirk 🤓

A lateral step within PureGym but a step forward in my career moving to a bigger and busier gym with new challenges, new members and a new team to get to know and help support. Now I have of course missed the team over at Linlithgow but the team at Falkirk have been very welcoming and I've really started to settle in.

Now onto the Personal Training side of things 😁

With this move to Falkirk and giving myself time to settle into the role I will be officially taking on new PT clients moving forward as well!

At the end of this week I will be on annual leave, heading off to Florida 😀, but as soon as I am back I am keen to get the ball rolling!

So what I will be offering for anyone interested is if you enquire between now and 24th of October, I am offering a 50% OFF 2 week trial for me returning on the 27th.

Client Update- Clare

We worked together for 6 months so pretty much since the gym opened. She was new to the gym scene and had never trained free weights before. During our time together we strived to build her confidence, learn how to use various equipment within the free weights, functional area and weight machines.

Clare has managed to go from heading straight to the treadmill uncertain how to use any of our equipment to now walking confidentially into the free weights area and barbell squatting more than 40Kg consistently. We saw great jumps in strength through the weights she could lift during our sessions but also she was recovering better as she wasn't feeling limited the following days after each work out.

Also she now has a better idea of how to plan her work outs, which exercises to group together and has started forming a list of exercises she can do in case she needs to swap something out.

Here is what Clare has to say about her experience working with me these past 6 months:

Can't recommend Craig enough. Before starting with him I hadn’t taken the gym seriously before and felt quite intimidated and nervous about the idea of going regularly.
Craig created a very friendly environment where I instantly felt comfortable. He helped me to improve my confidence and knowledge with regard to different exercises and use of the gym equipment where I now feel confident enough going on my own. I’m very happy with the progress I’ve made to date and I couldn’t have done it without him.

ANNOUNCEMENT

I'm leaving Puregym Dunfermline.

I will no longer be teaching classes or gracing the gym with my feather duster expertise 😢

I have been working in Puregym since 2019 and it has been a wild ride. I've had to step out of my comfort zone teaching classes, I've strived to be the best Personal Trainer I can, and most importantly I have scarred many people by wearing Christmas leggings in the gym 😂

Fortunately me leaving Puregym Dunfermline isn't all bad news as I am leaving due to a promotion!

I'll be leaving to take up a new position as the Assistant Manager of Puregym Linlithgow!

I'm buzzing for this new opportunity and can't wait to see where it might lead.

This week coming will be my final week teaching classes at the gym but I will still be knocking around working with my Personal Training clients so I am still happy to be of help whenever needed 😊

April Offer

Week 1 Working With Me

Meet Lewis

Lewis is my newest client and has just completed our first week together.

He has little to no experience in the gym, specifically strength training but he does have a background in playing squash.

His goals are to improve physical fitness and strength. This is for a variety of reasons including- improved confidence, improved fitness and strength, for work as he is training to become a paramedic and of course for squash.

To give you an idea what your first week working with myself could look like here is what Lewis's week 1 consisted of.

2x PT sessions covering:
• An adequate warm up for him to complete before our PT sessions and at the start of his own work out.
• Explaining how we will structure his work outs to fit the most in with his availability- 3x per week fullbody work outs.
• Not including the warm up we went over 7 exercises using a mix of free weights and machines. This allowed a good balance of exercises for him to be able to complete a work out solo later in the week but not too many that we felt like we rushed each one.

We discussed what other targets we would set outside of the gym and why they are relevant to him e.g. step target, water intake goal and to complete a food diary.

To help keep track of these areas, during his consultation we already discussed his weekly Check In Report to be completed at the end of the week which he did yesterday.

Alongside his Check In Form he received various PDFs that cover useful protein sources, snack swaps/ideas and example meal plans for different calorie targets.

Here is what Lewis had to say about our first week together- "I’d been putting off getting into a gym for a long time and was really nervous about getting started and what working with a personal trainer would be like, but from meeting Craig at the first induction he made everything seem really straight forward and that it was focussed on what I was hoping to get out of it. Very pleased to have taken the step and excited to keep going."
