A pleasure to have had a sports development and coaching student on placement with us over the last three months at Wildcats..

She had her assessment tonight and she absolutely smashed it 👏

It was great to have her lecturer present to observe the session and see the development she has made throughout the placement.

Anybody interested in how Nottingham Forest work behind the scenes within the academy, please give this a listen!

Forest are different in the way they operate compared to other clubs. Nathan, who leads the programme and interviewed/assessed me last night was evident of that...

He gave me just one minor discussion point on my coaching design setup -which, coming from a coach of his level, is incredible feedback.

I planned relentlessly for different scenarios. The attention to detail nearly drove me mad: hours every night, papers all over the bed, thinking through different angles. I didn’t want to freeze on the day because you can be in awe of the place, and wasn’t leaving anything to chance, i actually didn’t lay eyes at the Nottingham Forest badge till afterwards because I needed to get that distraction out from my head!!!

Nottingham Forest are also supporting me with my UEFA B licence starting in May, throwing me straight in with the U11’s I worked with last night, alongside support for other qualifications and future opportunities.

A part of the job role that excites me even more is identifying local talent. I’ve said before that areas like Gainsborough / Retford have hugely talented kids who often don’t get the opportunity. To eventually represent Nottingham Forest locally in that respect would be something special.
