⚽️ POST-MATCH REVIEW 🟡⚫️

A brilliant effort from the Mons in our first league match of the U10 season! 🦁

The opening 10 minutes were a bit of a wake-up call, with Lads Club creating some good opportunities and Jacob making a couple of important saves to keep us in the game.

Once we settled, the boys really started to find their rhythm. The passing, movement and communication all began to click, and we looked increasingly dangerous going forward.

The second half saw plenty of hard work and some excellent team spirit. The boys showed great character throughout and continued to work for each other right until the final whistle. 💪

There’s still plenty to work on, with the biggest takeaway being the importance of being switched on from the warm-up and right from kick-off.

We’ve already started back training and have completed our pre-season fixtures, getting some good minutes into the legs, trying a few different things and getting the boys ready for the challenges ahead. 👊

And just like that, our Under 9s season comes to an end! 💛🖤

Yesterday we finished our season at the Toros FC Tournament. Although the final few results, and those around us, meant we narrowly missed out on progressing from the group, we couldn't be prouder of the effort every single one of the boys put in. They gave everything right until the final whistle.

What a season it's been! We've experienced incredible comebacks, nail-biting victories, tough defeats and so many moments that have helped this team grow both on and off the pitch.

Reaching the cup final was a fantastic achievement and something the boys should always be proud of. While we didn't come home with the trophy, getting there was a huge accomplishment.

But if we're talking about unforgettable moments, nothing tops Old Trafford. How many young boys from little old Leominster get the chance to play on the same pitch as their footballing heroes? It's a memory they'll carry with them forever.

A huge thank you goes to our coaching team - Jake, Johnny, Steve and Tom. Through blazing sunshine, freezing cold and torrential rain, they've given up countless hours to make sure these boys had something to look forward to every single week. Your dedication doesn't go unnoticed.

To our amazing parents, thank you for every mile travelled, every early morning, every late finish and every cheer from the sidelines. Without you, none of this would be possible.

And finally, thank you to everyone who has supported the Mons this season. Whether you donated raffle prizes, bought raffle tickets, sponsored a player or simply cheered us on, you've helped give these boys opportunities and experiences they could only have dreamed of.

We now say goodbye to Under 9 football, but after a well-earned summer break, we'll be back bigger, stronger and even more determined as our Under 10s journey begins.

🏟️ WE'VE MADE IT... OLD TRAFFORD! 🟡⚫

What started as a dream is now a reality.

Today, the Leominster Mons are standing outside one of the most iconic football stadiums in the world, creating memories that will last a lifetime. For many of our boys, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one they have earned through their hard work, commitment and love for the game.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising events, donated, sponsored us, bought raffle tickets and backed the team throughout this journey. Without your support, days like this simply wouldn't be possible.

Now it's time for the boys to soak it all in and enjoy every moment of this incredible experience.

A massive congratulations to Tom Moriarty from Leominster Mons on already achieving both his Bronze and Silver awards through the Volunteer Development Programme an incredible achievement and fully deserved! 👏

We’re incredibly proud to have Tom as part of the team here at the Mons. From helping out at training sessions to supporting on match days, he’s become a huge part of the group already. The boys absolutely love having him around and honestly, we don’t know how they’d cope without him now! 💛🖤

Tom’s enthusiasm, commitment and willingness to learn have been brilliant to see all season, and his story shows exactly what grassroots football is all about creating opportunities, building confidence and making football accessible for everyone involved both on and off the pitch.

You’re one of us now Tom… you are a Mon! ⚽👏 🟡⚫🟡⚫

A congratulations to Tom Moriarty of Leominster Town Football Club as he's already received his bronze and silver awards for the Volunteer Development Programme. Meaning he's already volunteered over 20 hours to the club!

Here's what Tom had to say below:

"I’m really enjoying the opportunity I’ve been given to be involved with a youth football team, they are a great bunch of lads. Jake, the manager suggested this scheme to me and I’m so glad he did. I’ve always loved football, but being visually impaired has meant that playing in a team hasn’t been possible, so this has allowed me to be part of a team and learn new skills from the under 9 coaches, Jake, Johnny and Steve. Can’t wait to see what next season has in store for me."
