💛🖤⚽️ ERIC LANE MEMORIAL AWARD 2026 ⚽️🖤💛
At this year’s Presentation Day, we were incredibly proud to present the annual Eric Lane Memorial Award to Kaiser Davies.
Kaiser has faced an incredibly difficult season battling ongoing asthma problems and multiple hospital visits, but throughout it all his determination, bravery and love for football never faded. No matter the setbacks, he continued to show commitment to his teammates and his club every single time he pulled on the yellow and black shirt.
The Eric Lane Memorial Award is about far more than footballing ability — it recognises passion, character, resilience and dedication to Leominster Town FC — and Kaiser truly embodied everything this award stands for this season.
We were honoured to be joined by members of the Lane family and privileged to have Eric’s grandson, Zach, a member of our Under 18 team, present the award on the day.
The Lane family shared these heartfelt words with the club:
“To everyone involved at Leominster Town Football Club,
As a family, we’d like to thank you all for the amazing respect you’ve shown my dad since his passing in December 2024.
It started with all the junior teams holding a minute’s applause for him on the weekend he passed away, which really meant so much to the family during such a difficult time.
Then, to be contacted by Andrew about the creation of the annual Eric Lane Award was such a lovely gesture and a wonderful surprise for us all. It’s something we’re extremely grateful for. My dad would be so proud, as we all are as a family — especially my mum.
I remember asking my dad to run a team for myself and some school friends back in the late ’80s. Dad kindly agreed, and that was the beginning of Leominster Minors.
Over the next five years, Dad grew the club and left it with five junior teams across different age groups within the Herefordshire FA. Since then, the club has continued to grow from strength to strength, and it’s been amazing to watch over the last 30-plus years.
Dad’s biggest ambition was always to bridge the gap between the junior and adult sections, so to see it all united as one club today is fantastic.
I personally played for this club from the age of 10 until I was 30, so it holds a special place in my heart. It was also great to see my lad, Zach, playing for the Town again this season for Brian and Mel in the Under-18 Floodlit League.
Fittingly, Zach presented the Eric Lane Award at the presentation day, which I’m sure my dad is looking down on with great happiness.
So, from myself and all the family, we’d once again like to thank you all for the amazing respect and appreciation you’ve shown Dad over the last 18 months. He would be extremely touched.”

Eric’s legacy lives on through every player, coach, volunteer and family involved at Leominster Town FC, and this award will continue to honour the values and spirit he brought to the game for so many years.
Congratulations Kaiser — a truly deserving winner and an inspiration to everyone at the club. 👏💛🖤⚽️
