What a boss performance from them all. A massive win against a higher level team.
Great strong tackling and tracking back, fantastic 1 and 2 touch football through the midfiled and some super solo runs into their box. Great crossing from the wide players and top drawer goals. Great saves and kicking again from Will.
Max πŸ† was absolutely awesome in centre mid and down the left wing terrorising Boothstown and he was deservedly parents' MOTM and rewarded with a belter of a goal.
Oliver πŸ†at centre back against his old team earned Coaches MOTM for his solid performance stopping their threats and bringing the ball out from the back.
So proud of a great team effort today and we could have had so many more goals to make it more comfortable after dominating the play.
I will defo be watching that one again as the Veo decided to record it all this week.

After being drenched in the monsoon and the waterlogged pitch, the kids got off to a great start despite the conditions passing well and creating many chances. However, we were caught out with possibly the only 3 chances, Breigtmet created.
A super header from Harry lobbing the keeper got us back into the game, but it was a story of missed chances that cost us. If we can start finding the net with more of our chances, we will get the wins we deserve.
Ethan πŸ†was Parents' POTM bossing the midfield in the centre. He fought as centre mid winning back the ball and with some great runs through the middle and linked up well with his teammates.
Harry πŸ†was coaches' POTM as he was strong going forward and coming back to help the midfield and he was unlucky not to have had a few more goals.

Well done, all the kids today, a massive improvement from the cup game in the week. We are slowly getting back to our best.

A tough game and terrible result with the Typhoons earning bragging rights. To be fair we had a lot of the ball but just couldn't finish tonight. A few counter attacks from Holly caught us out and she finished well.
POTM was Herve πŸ† who was brilliant today getting stuck in and driving forward trying to create goals.
It was nice to have some club committee members show up to support us

Hopefully we will bounce back on Saturday.

It was a wonderful weekend and experience for the kids. Parents and kids bonding. The kids having fun in the arcades, beach, and pool. The parents mingling at the football and in the bars.

The football I couldn't be prouder of all the kids.

Day 1 Saturday
Bridlington Sports Centre:

The kids played so well from the off as a team and dominated the 1st 3 teams. With a little luck could have had a place in the final.

Saturday evening a brilliant time on the beach. The kids had a ball, climbing the cliffs and cricket on the beach. Barbecues sorting tea and drinks for the adults. As always Pete's very professional, small bonfire πŸ”₯ keeping us warm and sorting marshmallows for the kids.

Day 2 Sunday
Bridlington Town FC

On a heavy saturated pitch the kids were slow to get going but then again found their form and fought together, again, played great football and with only 1 goal the difference on the day between 3 of the teams just missed out on a place in the final. A class game in the group against their mates the Typhoons.

Ethan was a super addition to the squad and started on a high with a stunning strike for our 1st goal and up and down the pitch in every game he was parents' player of the tournament for the weekend.
Jackson was Coaches' choice for player of the tournament as he was awesome playing on the left side of defence, stopping everything that came his way and playing down the line, setting up many of the kids' attacks. A memorable slide tackle on day 1 taking out their striker, preventing a certain 1v1 on Will.
Freddie was brilliant at the back. He was super strong with his tackles and also sprinting down the wing, playing some great balls into the box.
Will was amazing in goal with some brilliant saves and his kicking was excellent.
George worked so hard on both wings tackling back and linking up well with the rest of the midfield.
Arthur was solid in defence. He was strong tackling and played some great balls forward to start attacks.
Frank was brilliant up front, coming back to help the midfield and had so unlucky not to get a hatfull of goals.
Harry and Herve were both warriors in midfield. They both stuck together and fought well in the middle of the pitch (literally πŸ˜†πŸ’ͺ🏼).
Max, our skipper, was super skillful beating players down the wing terrorising defences. Gutted that he couldn't on this occasion lift a trophy but he will still have the opportunities.
They were all excellent and played their parts in the games over the weekend. I am so proud of their efforts and we have been spoilt with their entertainment. Battling together, great goals, super saves and some lovely football.
Well done the Hurricanes and thanks everyone for a memorable thoroughly enjoyable weekend away βš½πŸΊβ˜€οΈ
A huge thanks to Steven Mcloughlin, it has been a pleasure coaching alongside you and look forward to coaching with you back homeπŸ‘Š

Saturday's match report

Tough conditions in the 1st round cup match this morning. The kids dug in and played some great football and defended really well. We couldn't find the goals to make it more comfortable today and to be fair North Walkden defended brilliantly.
The game was taken to penalties with a little controversy with their keeper sprinting off his line in the pens but with a strong ref he didn't get away with it 😊
Oliver πŸ†was coach's POTM as he was brilliant at the back. He put so much effort into stopping their attacks and on a few occasions when they looked to be 1 on 1 with Will and Yves he made it back to clear the ball..
Emily πŸ† was Parents' POTM. She was excellent beating players down the right wing 1st half putting some dangerous crosses into the box and 2nd half partnered Oliver keeping out the North Walkden attackers.
Well done with the pens Frank, Harry and nerves of steel Max with the winner. Well done Will spreading himself for the pens and unlucky with a fab save that went in off the post
Well done everyone and we move into the next round to play club mate the Typhoons.

It wasa great team display today.
Will and Yves were excellent in goal and in midfield today. The defence was solid with Freddie, Oliver, and Jackson so strong stopping the opposition and starting off our counterattacks. Max, Herve, Harry, and George were brilliant with the ball, passing well and linking up to set up Frank, and they also worked hard, winning back possession.
Frank πŸ†was Parents' POTM with a super striker's performance pressing high winning the ball, holding it up and with all 6 goals and some boss finishing.
George πŸ† was my POTM with a fantastic midfield performance starting at centre mid but then amazing at right midfield. His run down the wing and cross for Frank's volley was so good to watch but as well as that he fought all over the pitch to win back possession and his through ball in the 1st half for one of Frank's 1on1 goals was unbelievable.
Well done to the whole team πŸ’ͺ🏼⚽

It was a great performance from the kids this morning. They worked so well as a team. Strong defensively and great passing through the midfielders to create many chances for the attacking players.
Yves πŸ† was Coaches' POTM and was superb in goal with plenty to do, especially the 1st half. An amazing save at the end, tipping over the bar a 1on1 chance for their striker with many other great saves, including a couple with his feet.
Joe was Parents' POTM and was brilliant as CDM playing just in front of the defence. He tackled back and was so calm on the ball starting off our attacking moves.
A lovely touch at the end getting applauded off by his team and parents in his last game for the Hurricanes.
Well done, Jacks, with his 1st goal for the team with a belter from outside the area πŸ‘πŸ»
Well played everyone this morning πŸ’ͺ🏼⚽

Another game at short notice after Breighmet reversed the fixture to get the kids a game. A solid team performance in an evenly matched game.
We went ahead fairly early, but at half time, we were 2-1 down.
2nd half we were playing down the hill and dominated the game, and another sweet left foot finish from Frank got us level.
Both teams went looking for the winner, but super performances and great saves from Yves and Will kept them out, but despite most of the play in their half, we just could not find that final pass or finish.
Max πŸ† was Parents' POTM today as he battled for possesion in midfield throughout the game, played a great ball in for Frank's equaliser and so unlucky not to score the winner with a great effort at the end.
Will πŸ† earned Coaches' POTM despite not having much game time this season he made some great saves, and kicking was really good, setting up a few good attacking opportunities. It was a nice partnership today with Yves today sharing the goalkeeping and both doing amazing.
Well done, everyone, for not giving up and getting back into the match and pressing for a winner. The kids just ran out of time to get a winning goal.

Our toughest league game this year and a close game which we never deserved to lose. There was a 3 minute spell towards the end of the 1st half when we switched off and conceded the 3 goals. However, the kids dug in and got a goal back before half time with a sweet left foot finish from Frank into the bottom corner. 2nd half we dominated with all the game being played in their half. Oliver, Freddie, and Jacks (til he got injured) were strong at the back with Arthur, Jaxon, and George also playing well when filling in at the back to stop any attacks. They helped keep a clean sheet 2nd half with Yves, who was great in goal today, super handling of the ball, and great kicking.
A great delivery from the corner from Joe was turned in by Harry to get us back in the game.
The kids created so many opportunities to score but could not get the goals to get the result all our hard work deserved. Pierson and Herve battled in the centre of the pitch winning possession to set up Em, Max, Harry, George and Frank who surged forward trying to get the goals back but Horwich filled their box with defenders to pull off a Tony Pulis performance to defend and see out a 1 goal lead.
It was hard work getting the strong 14 squad game time, but they all adapted to different positions when needed and were all so positive despite the many subs throughout the game.
Emily πŸ†was my POTM as she was super in her new wing back role, crossing the ball into the box so well and sprinting back to help the defence. Quite a few different votes for parents' POTM, but it went to Freddie πŸ† who was all over the pitch, just like Em, up and down creating chances, nearly getting a goal, and defended brilliantly. Oliver and Freddie had a great partnership as a back 2 for the last 10mins as we went for the equaliser but it just wasn't our day as far as rmthe result went.
Unlucky with the result but so proud of all the kids attitudes and efforts this morning. Well played everyone πŸ‘πŸ»
