As the days get shorter and the evenings get darker, it is vital to look after your personal safety when exercising outdoors. The University has been providing panic alarms and high-vis equipment for all students. Team Leicester clubs have been working to promote the scheme. As part of this, and to raise awareness for the topic of safety during outdoor exercise, the Club Captains have organised a Quiz event.
A Question of Sport and Safety will take place on Wednesday 2nd of December at 6:30-8:30pm, via Zoom. The quiz will consist of 8 rounds of 5 questions, each round will be delivered by a different TL club. Teams can have anywhere between 1-6 participants, please be aware that if you do not live together/are not part of a social bubble do not congregate together, we suggest creating a group chat to discuss answers.
Tickets to the event can be purchased on the SU website, each ticket is £2 per individual. All proceeds will go to Victims First, a charity working within Leicestershire that supports those who have experienced and/or witnessed any kind of abuse/crime.
Ticket sales will close at 12pm (midday) on Wednesday 2nd December and everyone will be send a link to the event via email. The answer sheet will be a google form, and this will be fully explained at the start of the event.
A prize will be awarded to the winning team/individual, donated by the University of Leicester Student Union.
Please make sure you arrive promptly to the event. We are looking forward to having a great quiz, raising some awareness of the issues faced by many when exercising outdoors and donating money to an amazing charity!
