Instead of always giving players the answers, try asking them the questions.

As coaches, itā€™s easy to tell players exactly what to do. But when we encourage them to think, theyā€™re far more likely to understand why theyā€™re making a decision, not just what theyā€™re doing.

By asking the right questions, we help players develop their game intelligence and become better decision-makers on the pitch.

Remember... the best learning doesnā€™t always come from being told. Sometimes, it comes from being askedšŸ’­.

One of our longest-standing clients Maggie has had a brilliant season in the Platinum League. Maggie has been working with us for over a year now and itā€™s been a pleasure to watch her continue to develop.

Last month, I took up the role of Girlsā€™ Development Officer at Castle Donington FC and I have already had the opportunity to coach a couple of players from our U12 girls team.

As a child, I never saw much female representation in the game. I didnā€™t have many female coaches or role models within any of my clubs to show me what was possible. Thatā€™s why itā€™s something we are so passionate about now.

If we can help even one young girl believe they belong in football and inspire them to keep playing, coaching or getting involved in the game, then weā€™re doing something right!

Sometimes itā€™s a lack of confidence.

Thatā€™s why our sessions are built around more than just technical development.

We create an environment where players feel comfortable to make mistakes, ask questions, and keep improving without the fear of getting it wrong.

Confidence grows when children feel supported, challenged at the right level, and enjoy what theyā€™re doing.
