The summer dressage series is an unaffiliated series of six dressage shows at Aberhall Equestrian, one per month between April and October 2026.

Each show includes six classes split into junior and senior sections and are suitable for a wide range of riders.

League registration is free and automatic for horse /rider combinations and points are awarded in each show for 1st – 6th places. These points are accumulated over the series with fabulous end of season sponsor embossed Champion rosettes, sashes and perpetual trophies to the overall winners of each class. You do not have to enter every show.

Class 1 – Aberhall Mini’s – Test 3
Class 2a – Aberhall Intro – Test 3 (see note below)
Class 2b – BD Introductory 3 – 2024
Class 3 – Aberhall Canter – Test 3 (see note below)
Class 4 – BD Prelim 3 – 2024
Class 5 – BD Novice 3 - 2024

Please Note
We have split class 2 into sections 2a and 2b.

Class 2a – is a confidence boosting class for nervous or less experienced riders who are perhaps new or fairly new to dressage.

Class 2b – Rider/horse combinations must not have competed in any BD Novice class previously at any venue.

Class 3 – Rider/horse combinations must not have competed in any BD novice class previously at any venue.

These rules apply to both senior and junior riders.

We are excited to announce that classes 4&5 will be qualifiers for the SSADL Blue Chip Dressage Championships held in Warwickshire in September!

You do not have to be an SSADL member to qualify- we do all the leg work for you and submit your qualification and SSADL contact you in August!

About the Event

Join Judith, a fellow of the British Horse Society for a great session using poles to develop the horses way of going and more accurate test riding.

Sessions are held for 1 hour in a group of 3 and will now run between 8am and midday due to the high temperatures forecast. You will be advised of your clinic time via email the Tuesday before the event.

Entry to this clinic is £30 per rider.

Hi all

Please find the course walk, approximate class start times and running order for Wednesday's Show Jumping show attached.

Remember these are approximate so please arrive in plenty of time. We will try to run to time but as you all know these things can change on the day!

If you would like to jump extra rounds, we can accept extra entries on the day. Please see a steward in the warm-up area or go to the judge's wooden hut at the top of the car park with the correct cash, as card payment facilities are not available on site. Entry fees on the day are £14 per individual class and £16 for a pairs or horse and hound class.

Body protectors are ADVISED for this event.
We will not issue competitor numbers so please try to keep to the published running order and confirm your name to the judge in the wooden hut when entering the arena.

We will run a 2-phase in every class and prize-giving will be on foot outside the judge's hut immediately after each class.

Glenn Whitehouse Photography will be taking pics and these can be purchased via his page after the show. There will also be a caterer on site - please do support them.

There are two parking areas: one on the right at the top of the hill and one immediately above the arena. Please park sensibly allowing room for others and place any droppings in the skips provided.

Our ‘What Three Words’ location is Forehand.lottery.frowns for those of you who have not visited previously.

All horses and ponies visiting Aberhall must be vaccinated against Equine Influenza. Please have your horses' passports ready, as spot checks will be carried out.
