Sadly the April 2025 edition was the last Cycle Surrey Hills event. As organisers, Rotary Bookham & Horsley found that it was just too onerous to manage. Sadly, the anti-cycle lobby who felt it necessary to spread tacks on the road in two locations in April 2025, leading to punctures for several of our riders, further discouraged us.
We have tried unsuccessfully to find another Rotary or cycling Club to take it on. Do get in touch if you would like to discuss this. The admin system, route information and processes are all ready for you!!
Can we sincerely thank those who took part, put the event together, and supported us in so many ways over 5 years. You had fun, and raised over £10,000 for our local charities. It was a blast!

Thanks very much to all supporters of our 4th annual Cycle Surrey Hills event last Sunday - a gentle meander undertaken by exactly 100 cyclists. They and our sponsors will have raised about £3500 for two very worthwhile Surrey based charities. Other stats of note include 200 bananas, 120 assorted flapjack, brownies and...the return of excellent bread pudding; lots of tea; three singing ladies to welcome home weary cyclists. And good weather

Thanks BBC Radio Surrey for my 3 minutes at 7.25 this morning to promote the bike ride. I had to compete with a story of over ordering of Easter eggs in the Orkeney Islands but hopefully some cyclists heard me!
